What's the best file sharing P2P program? Or better yet, are there any tools which will assist me in finding rare files in Kazaa Lite (using latest version w/ k++). I'm not a n00b, but am just looking for more to extend and find the files I need.
I've been searching for rare files on Kazaa and I just can't find any. I got this friend who is really into Christian Rock and he's having me make a compilation CD for him. It just gets a little frustrating when I can't find the files.
I've used WinMX in the past (didn't like it, dunno if it's cuz im on 56k or wat) and Piolet. Oh yea, also have used Tesla but dropped it (after I found out what it really was).
I reformatted my computer lately and haven't learned of any new programs or tools on the P2P scene. Right now I only have K Lite installed. I've been content with just using Kazaa until now. I've beend downloading off there, but now it's time to find other 'good' alternatives. Please explain specific setups that you may have and anything else you find relevant to the topic.
Right now, I'm using most of the tools and things from www.k-lite.tk. Is there anything I can do to help my situation, whether it be tools or a whole new P2P proggie altogether? Keep in mind, I want to find rare MP3 files. Oh and I don't like gnutella. Lol, I don't have broadband so that's how it goes down. Anything not mainstream that is good?
Thanks for any help I can get in advance. I hope I can find something useful.

not trying to be a smart ass, but they are rare for a reason, basically you just have to hope you find or run into the right people/person, you could give DC a try for that, but it is no picnic, especially without broadband, good luck

soulseek is one you should check out for rare files, and whole albums. ;-)

dont bother with soulseek, i doubt you'll find one there what you cant find on kazaa, but programs like soulseek and shareaza are continuously promoted by some people cos the developer once spoke to them on a forum. or something

Soulseek might be faster because it has central servers, but if you leave auto search more on for 45 minutes, you can search about the whole fasttrack network, yeah, do that, that's my advice.

like ppl said: rare files are rare. to help urself find them using klite, tick the autosearchmore box then do as general a search as possible - so maybe just artist name. leave it for 20 mins or so then come back and have a look at the results. u can also manually try jumping supernodes using file/jump supernode but don't use both of these methods. sorta defeats the object really. u could try looking for some websites which are into the genre of music u want and see if they host any.

wtf are you talking about, soulseeks fanboys, i haven't seen one. ya there was some shareaza one's but not soulseek. and actually most things on kazaa is mtv/radio music, and FT doesn't have good quality music. on soulseek and others i can just download the full album of an artist. i've found more rare music on soulseek then on kazaa. dc++ and winmx are also good for quality files.

There are a few ways to get the rare stuff:
1. Soulseek. Easiest way to get really rare stuff. Just search and download.
2. K++ along with kazupernode. Go to fastrackhelp to find more about it. (you can choose supernodes and if you want a german song, you choose a supernode that is in Germany and you have more chances of finding the file). Also leaving auto-search for a long time brings up good results.
3. DC if you have broadband and you have to share alot.
4. WinMX. Openap servers have a lot of rare stuff.
5.IRC. Very easy.
6.Pray for AudioGalaxy to come back!

I have seen a few. One such thread was posted, in all caps or something, saying
"EVERYBODY USE SOULSEEK!!"
or something like that, I don't quite remember.
Every program has it's fanboys. Some of these fanboys just seem to "promote"(spam) more often than others.

The best 5? so you searched them all for Christian music in order to come to that concluision?
or did you not even bother to read his original post and just post the same 5 p2p programs that you would have posted if someone was looking for Beetthoven? or Raining Pleasure.

Acording to r_xq, you should use EarthStation5
IŽm sure youŽll find a lot of Christian Rock there...
For rare stuff, I would normally recommend SoulSeek, but for this kind of stuff, maybe youŽre better off with K++

use everything and be patient
you'll never get everyhing from one source
be persistent, and don't give up
also if you do get rare stuff, share it!! make it more available and it won't be rare anymore!
