Hi,
I'm currently using Kazaa Lite and I think it's the "canines nuts"! However, following news reports such as this, (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/2847223.stm) one make me want to look for another suitable p2p client:
Although I think most of use have known this for quite some time but have turned a blind eye (afterall there appears to be little else we can do!), I for one no longer wish to use a program that can share images and video at all , I'm looking for a program that can share mp3's only! Can anybody recommend anything?
Or is there a way to switch off images and video permanently on Kazaa Lite?
Kind regards,
Cyrill666

Well.. there are a number of things you can do
You can
1. Get a program for mp3s only
2. move all your video files from the main folder into another one and just leave the mp3s.. thus sharing only them
1. If you want a program for mp3s only.. here you go
Piolet (http://www.piolet.com)

Thanks Evil_Dweller_01,
I don't have any video files to share, only software and mp3's - I just don't want to use Kazaa lite anymore.
I'll check out Piolet, thanks.
Kind regards,

Go use Freenet....hahahahaha! Kidding....
Just use the filters to block video/software/images and only download mp3's. It's basically the same as finding an mp3 only P2P app...
Dude, I remember you...you started that big 'ol uproar about child porn ages ago.....theres nothing to be done about it so look on the bright side of things and filter if you wish too. I'm sick of people going the "let's get government to fix it!" route cuz that's exactly what they want...people like you being so outraged by certain things that you blindly accept every power you give them....and IMHO that's extremely retarded. If 'Soccer Moms" were abundant....we'd all be in a world I'd never wish to partake of... Free will for the masses..not free rain for the politically powered bastards.
You seem so appalled by it....it's almost as if you're fighting down your own pedophilic urges. :shy lol
Edit: Heres the old thread if ya'll are wondering what I'm talking about.

Hi CCSDUDE
Yes, I started the thread last year, perhaps naively I just wanted to know if there was an easy way to stop it. However, it seems not - which is fine. I got that much from that last thread.
Speaking as a parent, I can assure you, I have none of the urges to which you refer.
I don't want to start all that again, I'm just looking for a reasonable music only client.
Kind regards,

I was kidding, dude. ; )
And yes theres no real way to block one thing without someone getting the urge (legal or not) to block other stuff...before you know it P2P in every form is dead.
Good with the bad....that's how it has to be. Funny thing is the RIAA doesn't give a damn about Mr. Ned downloading 6 gigs worth of child perversion, they care about Brittany's latest single being swapped by AOL using teenie bopper boobs. Whatta fucked up world we live in, eh?
Piolet's you're best choice, it's the reincarnation of Blubster which was a major knock off of Napster after it tanked. You'd be hard pressed to find an mp3 of CP sound much less CP. lol
Good luck on finding a client that suits your needs. Hope this thread don't go south with another drawn out CP discussion....

is that the RIAA's new tactic - label p2p as kiddie-porn paradise?
I fear for Hilary.
Cyril666 - i wouldn't usually bother with "worried parents". If you can't be bothered to supervise your kids, don't expect us to.
but if u just want music - soulseek is by far the best client.

I would worry about this a little more if I were some of you people. Did you know that you are liable for any image you make available to a minor? Not of a minor, to a minor. Expect to be like the little guy at the grocery store who sells beer to the Sheriff's department mascot, only much much worse. After they get done with you in the showers of the federal prison, if there is anything left you could end up paying for all future psychology/therapy for 50 million children

UBER-RAT, I CAN be bothered to supervise my kids, they're not old enough for the internet just yet, but in a few years when they are you can be damn sure I'll do everything in my power to protect them. But I do understand your point.
I'll check out soulseek, cheers for the link.
I've actually discovered that the Kazaa setting that allows you to filter out certain words also allows you to filter out file types too... I hadn't realised that when I made my original post yesterday.
Kind regards,

UBER-RAT - love your tag line; it's so true!
