Hey there. I was wondering if there was a way I could see my own files when I was searching. Was just curious to see how it appeared to others. I've fixed up all my files using the edit function so they don't say things that are incorrect about the file and have added stuff like year of release and whatnot.

I'm using kazaalite v 2.1.0

Thanks!

I can see my own files in shareaza 1.8.0 if I search several times while it's still trying to search several times (recursively) it's a bug though.

Ya theres some way, you type in the IP address and port and it displays your shared I believe, wait till someone who is pro @ kazaa is here. Im more with emule.edonkey

just open your eyes :D
heh ok.. so that was lame. The real question is why try to see your own files? You already have them... If the answer is, "I want to know if other people can see them to d/l them" then just check to see if you've had any transfers. After an hour with some popular files, you have no one downloading from you, chances are something is possibly wrong and you aren't actually sharing; :) but that's another question for another thread.

It's really hard, one time I left autosearchmore on for 6 hours or so and it was searching for a rare file "Star Trek TOS - Return of the Archons" it finally found mine. But I wasn't trying to find my own. That's about the only way I know, just keep searching. I don't know if it's a bug or what.

yes u r correct with that. load up dos, type IPCONFIG. note ur IP address, then load up ur browser, type in ur IP address followed by Space:1214

like jonny5 said though. if ur just wanting to check users can download ur files, download a britney song or something simliar then share it. u won't have to wait long for some1 to download off u. or else whilst ur uploading off some1 ask them nicely to see if they can download a file from u by browsing ur shared folder.

...or if you don't want to load DOS, you can just open Run... from your Start Menu and type "IPCONFIG" there instead. Also, you could go to this site (http://www.utm.edu/research/iep/) for your IP info.

Hmm, that little Kazaa trick is interesting. Does it not mean you can use Kazaa as server software of sorts? You could just give someone a link to a file you're sharing on Kazaa. Then they could d/l it via their browser. I'm not sure, but I could download from myself when I tried it a few months back. I think I've heard somewhere that that little "feature" was patched. I don't feel like trying it right now, maybe someone else will.
