What is the scariest movie that you have ever seen? I can't really decide because whenever I think back on a scary movie, it seems corny, but at the time, I was just about to wet myself. I'm watching Steven King's "IT" right now, and yeah, I think I need to use the bathroom.

Bahhhh!!! stephen_sterritt that was pretty funny!

Well we had a poll about this last year, and some of the title brought up were Halloween, Friday 13, Alien.

The most votes went for The Excorcist if I recall. Also The Entity is hella scary in parts. yes it is.

I have The Ring, and Ringu, Ringu II. I also have that damn tape! I need to give a copy to someone, any takers?

"Hello Mr Sterrit, phone call for you sir . . . some woman named 'Sabato', . . . something about dying ... on line 3"

Share it on Kazaa, that'll be the quickest way to 'dispose' of it.

I can honestly say that I've never, ever, been truly made to feel scared by a film/movie. I'm not saying that as some sort of bragging right or anything, just as a matter of fact, that's all. Sure my stomach has churned at the site of gore, like the flesh-ripping chains in Hellraiser. But as a youngster I wasn't perturbed at seeing, A Warewolf in London, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Evilspeak, on pirate video.

But having said that, seeing The Ring (the original) I did find it a little unnerving. Not so much scared, but spooked. Watching it at 2am, in the dark and alone didn't help matters...

Halloween 1, vitually no gore all atmosphere. I first saw this when I was about 9, nearly crapped myself, the sequals are all worthless, but this film is a masterpiece of suspence.

On a par with the psycho shower sequence as containing the most famous movie music ever.

Oh yeah that scene in Jaws when the head without an eye comes out of the hole in the boat, my heart leaped so much i could taste it.

'Tickle Toon Typhon: Let's Be Friends'.. God help anyone who has to watch that.

Event Horizon was pretty damn scary too.

For a recent scary movie I found the Mothman profecies pretty scary and my favourite classic scary movie would have to be the Alien series especially Aliens (the second movie).

I love horror/scary/thrillers. Anything that makes you feel dirty after watching it is good for me. Unfortunately, scary movies don't frighten me... yet I still like the underlying idea.

My vote is for George Romero's Dawn of the Dead or perhaps Night of the Living Dead... there is nothing more frightening than the walking, unburied dead coming after you... and if they bite you, you become one of them.

The Ring was a good scary movie idea that was pulled off quite well. The Insomnia remake was the best scary, big-budget Hollywood flick I have seen of late--it made me feel unsettled--I love that feeling.

There are so many good scary movies... I remember when I was a small child that my babysitter let me stay up and watch Poltergeist on HBO... that fucked with me when I was five.

It is difficult to whittle this down... so I won't.

I was just gonna add that one, it's is a classic for sure, there's something about zombies and a mall, sorta like that one movie Night of the Comet (not that it was that scary though)

Yeah, I'll second that. Besides Naomi Watts being really hot, it had kind of a weird (if not weak) dialogue. But man, by the end, I was just about to go run and hide.

First off they dont make scary movies like they used to when i was growing up.

But the best series ever was Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

How about "Henry: portrait of a serial killer" anyone ? I saw trailer for this movie and i want to watch it. I heard that it was banned in some countries.

And another recommendation - 8mm with mr. Cage.
