it hasn't really affected me... i got slightly jittered when they caught that guy using verizon, but within a day or two i was back to my daily routine of filesharing.

My downloading is driven by the music I happen to discover. If I find a song or two I like, I search for more. If I listen to these songs for a few weeks and still like 'em I get back online to find an album to purchase. Looking forward to getting a double album and T-shirt I ordered last week - artist-direct, who needs the middle-men? So, to answer your question - no.

I'm trying to download more before they pass laws like the CBDTPA and it's illegal for us to even think about copyrighted material. If you want to see an example of what computers could look like...

There's no way computers will ever get like that, but yes I am downloading more than ever too. What is the CBDTPA?

Senator Fritz Hollings' Consumer Broadband and Digital Television Promotion Act would require hardware copyright protection to be built into all "digital media devices." This would include computers, PVR, TV, DVD, VCR, and basically anthing with a microchip in it. See the bill at http://www.politechbot.com/docs/cbdtpa/hollings.s2048.032102.html

A Princeton Professor, Edward Felton, has assembled a list of funny examples of electronic devices that would be regulated by the CBDTPA. Check out "Fritz's Hit List" (read from the bottom up) at http://www.freedom-to-tinker.com/archives/cat_fritzs_hit_list.html
