As a newcommer to MIRC the vast array of Networks is daunting, which ones are the best networks to find underground music and releases?

DALNET is excellent for both underground and new music.

When your starting out, its probably best to stick to the four major networks: DALNet, EFNet, IRCNet, & Undernet. Another popular netowrk for downloading files is Criten.
Also, http://irchelp.org/ is, in general, a great site for IRC n00bs. Check it whenever you have a question and chances are that it will have an answer.

sounds good about mirc, i am like a newbie in this, as i learned how to used newsgroups. i am sure irc is good, but it is not like you go and expect to download stuff right away, i understand its a process. where you have to know people in certain groups *such as * smr, *you have to be a member* there are others, i mean there is a wealth of information on irc, but you know it takes time.
p2p is good for sharing. but i am glad people are taking the initiative to help OUt newbies out like me and others to learn this.
U learn everyday.
