Ok, I just visted a few of the forums here for the first time and I noticed something unsettling. A couple of the forums here are sponsered by Cydoor, now to me that doesn't make sense since as a FileSharing Portal we do not like getting any extra "freebies" in our P2P Program downloads. I understand that they have to pay bills but isn't this a little wierd? Also, ironically enough the Ad-aware vs. Spyware forum is also sponsered by Cydoor. Why?

Are you sure about that? I'm not aware of anyone confirming that.

I am going by the way it was explained here on a older thread, and the fact that I dont hear any of the people here that are more in the know than me complaining about it.

Whatever pays the bills is fine by me since it DOESN'T harm my computer.. and it is pretty easy to block the ads.

This issue has been addressed many times before.

Ditto. My webwasher blocks ads on most sites so it does not bother me either. The only place I don't care for spyware is on my own computer. As for other places its a free country...

Yeah, this has been brought up here, and at other file sharing sites, its a banner ad, nothing more, I could change it to Phalkon with cool graphics, and it would be just that harmful

Cydoor isn't too bad anymore, they're more into popups, and not gator style either

Like moony said, whatever pays the bills, we go out to a generic ad server, and get whatever ads we can, they're actually pretty generous if you think about it, helping a site basicly devoted to removing their software...

That's interesting. I saw that Jessica said something about Cydoor sponsoring the Zeropaid news, but I thought it was a joke.

It's cool if Phalkon says it is though.

BTW, I am an Eagle Scout too Phalkon, I got mine when I was 15, that was about 3 years ago.

What browser are you using Koffee Bean? Because even without any ad removers I don't see any on Zeropaid, it just has Action Cancelled where the ads are.

Well I myself don't have a problem with it since Cydoor isn't spyware anymore, it's Adware, but I just thought it was fairly ironic them sponsering a thread devoted to removing stuff like what they make. Infamousone, I use IE, Avant, and Mozilla, but I used to get [AD] there before but then I disbabled that feature in ZAP Pro becvause sometimes it would block images I wanted to see, thats why I never noticed it until now, oh well it's all good :shy

host file? Who's host file? What? I feel stupid.

For my project I built a utility trailer, it took almost a whole year to plan and design, fundraise, buy materials, talk to people who knew that they were doing for structure, electrical stuff etc. and carry it out, and of course I had to find an agency to give it to. It turned out being St. Vincent de Paul. What's yours?

When you install K-lite something called a host file can be installed, it basicly blocks certain websites, the ones in the list are ad servers, so it blocks many ads from loading, but at the same time can block pics you want to see

Mine will be behind a local elementary school, there is a trail in the woods, which is barely walkable, I'll clear it out, put signs up for dirrections, and make it a nature trail, basicly have signs that say "this is a pine tree" with a picture and description

I'm working with a past teacher of mine, she's getting fundraising, and this spring we'll start work hopefully

I'm also enlisting her students to help make brochures for the nature trail and stuff, so I'm sure council will accept it
