I was wondering how FPM, EDO, RD and good old DDR stack up agast one anouther.

Okay I know FPM is Fast Page Mode (what ever the fuck that is) and is a SIMM so I think it is a littel dated right?

EDO is 168 pin dimm which is newer but has a few pins less than DDR and RD. So it is dated right?

RD is 184 PIN dimm, but don't you haft to install them in pars like the good, I mean shitty old days? Is RD better than DDR? If so how?

Does any of these ram types have any nice properties?

Rambus ram is better than DDR srdam because the memory bandwidth is higher and but its speeds(pc#) and costs is why its not not widely used and why DDR is popular.

I just can't wait for magnetic ram to come out. It will kick all the other forms of Ram's asses.

RDRam is super fast. We're talking bandwidth peaks upwards of 1.6GB/s. Speed like that costs money though. I cant afford to spend $100 + for a stick of 512MB, especially when i can buy a stick of 512MB SDRam for around $40 or so. and besides, my PC only supports SDRam, so i'm stuck right now.

I imagine if youre a gamer, a heavy gamer, then RDRam is prolly more suited to you. I heard, but dont quote me, that PS2s and XBOXs use RDRam inside the plastic.

Nice thx for that info. I though rd was the best but its cock speeds where kida low and it says you have to install them in pairs so that kida confused me. yeah rd is kida expencive but it is cheeper than ddr 3700 and it sounds like it is faster too.

LOL has any of you tired putting SD in a p4? DON'T you comp will be SO FUCKING SLOW.
