G'day All, I was cleaning the screen of a friend's PC carefully but the cloth must of picked up a sharp particle and I now have some scratches which are shallow but optically very very annoying to say the least. I think the anti-glare film is the only thing damaged and I have had trouble finding what type of material it is. Can it be buffed ( that doesn't seem the way ) or polished and if thats the case with ?????? HELP please and Havagreatday

I am not aware of a Glare repair, but my thoughts are this. Since Rain X is a silicone sealer, and dries transparent, you may try a coat of that, buff it down well ( soft clean cloth) and see if it helps any. It may make the scratches less noticable.
It has helped me with minor scratches on CDs.
cheers

Actually your totally right... We use it on the lenses at work....top notch shit...oh and try to use lint free tissue paper. Something like the tissue they use on spectacles.

G'day All, thanks for the reply and re a result Rain X may be the answer but, and there is always a but, lol Rain X doesn't appear to be available DownUnder as far as I can tell (maybe by another name) but if anyone could find out or steer me in the right direction re what is the type of "Anti-Glare Film" that is on the screen and maybe I can follow it up from there. I have searched just about every way I can think of to find out and obviously without success, Havagreatday All and thanks again, navek_3

Just a thought but perhaps you could do a search and buy it online and have it mailed over?

http://www.rainx.com/
You want "Rain-X® Windshield Wax" it's the same stuff I use on 8+ thousand dollar lens stuff...so it should be just fine for a monitor.
