Is the network they use centralized? It looks like it. And Audiogalaxy was centralized, which is why it was so easy to shut down (by the RIAA).

So while this client seems to want to capitlize on ex Audiogalaxy users, the problem is that once it starts to get moderatly popular the RIAA will catch drift of it and shut it down (with unfortunate legal/financial issues).

If it is not centralized, then I appologize.

It is centralized, but in Argentina.

i tried GLT poliane and it is ok, as far as most new file sharing apps go, nice interface easy to find your way round etc. But the reason AG was popular was because of the enormous amount of hard to find files and high bit rates it had. This app just doesnt have any files yet.

Plus part of AGs appeal were the groups where you could get together and trade with people who had similar music interests to yourself. This doesnt have groups.

It would also help if it was properly translated into english.

You're right, but admit GLT is closer to Audigalaxy than ever.

AG was more than a file sharing client. It was a music community that new groups released their work and it was announced on the front page. Every genre had a home page and a top 10. You could create groups , read the latest releases plus a bunch of other features that made the best ever mp3 download app and one of the best music communities ever created. I hope you guys work hard of and create a true community but for the time being it's just another file sharing client.

I don't think that would make a difference. The RIAA has global reach.

If you really want to know, there is a function for that called search. And you will find 4 threads.

This one has been posted in March, the 3rd.

That's the way things go. The author of GLT hasn't 1 000 000 friends.

Today there are more users.

Glt is a good program.
I'm a kind of friend of Gustavo (the creator).... i worked on the spanish version of glt.... i like the program...
but the problem is that i could not share, because i have WMA's files only...(better than mp3's).....

...I really don't think that glt will "REPLACE" Audiogalaxy... i believe that nothing could replace it....
Napster.....Audiogalaxy.....kazaa.....
non of this programs replaced nothing!

they are...just.....different!

It needs more users and better translations. You cannot compare and contrast it to AG at this point of its shelf life.

It defintiely has potential however.
