ive been downloading stuff from the internet for about 5 years now maybe. back in the old days it was topsites, irc, newsgroups and ftp.
its too tedious sometimes to get at some rare stuff. you really have to look arround and some nice places are really hard to get into .
what i liked about p2p is its very easy and fast to search through stuff. but i still would like to get more info on whats the best for rare stuff.
i still cant find a LOT of things ive been looking for for years, but im very sure they are being shared on the internet.
for e.g.
artist : meam, blurring of trees, slorarium,
movie: rubber's lover , brothers quay, el topo, Kirby Dick's film Sick: The Life and Death of Bob Flanagan
programme : organic arts
game : postal
0 sec releases like:
Cdatakill_-_Southeast_Aurora_Syndrome_EP-(HARDLINE10)-Vinyl-2003-SQ
Super_Collider_Live_-_Hybrid_at_Flex-Vienna-CABLE-10-22-2002-MS
Super_Collider-Raw_digits-2002-NuHS
theres countless other files im looking for.
ive tried most of the stuff listed here but im forced to go back to private communites and just wait arround and hope some one in real life is willing to rip and trade stuff with you. that takes a lot of time.
what are good filesharing means to get fringe stuff that catters to very spesific tasttes like underground but commercial music like idm, industrial and gabba, audio synthesis books, schematic diagrams, cult / independant movies / festival movies , banned / un realeased video games.... things of that nature.
i keep going back to slsk for music and ed2k for my movie fix. just found some nice private opennap servers for electronic music.
didnt like dc, fasttrack, gnutella, piolet, ares and filetopia.
is there anything else i can try?
what works for me for now is hanging arround and waiting in ftp, irc, Ngs and just spreading my requests through word of mouth and hoping some one will be willing to sit and rip stuff and put it up for share. it works but its a very very slow process
