My school has a pretty high tech firewall and proxy and i wondered if there was a P2P program that can get through it?

From what I've seen that was posted on different forums, Ares is good and it's not blocked my firewalls and crap.

basicly, you're gonna get through it, or you're not, there isn't really a magical key that lets you through
Have you tried any program? you may be surprised (although you may have to work with proxy settings, or finding an open port)

I'm at school too, and the only thing that really worked for me was Soulseek. Not sure why. A few others connected (not many... most just sat there wasting space and everything else) but wouldn't let me actually do anything. I got search results on audiognome, but I couldn't download. Same with kazaa.
A friend of mine at a different school can't do any file transfers at all... no file sharing for him. Not even over AIM or MSN or whatever else.

Kurt, think you could PM me or post here a listing of what each port does? I've tried to find a website that explains this, for instance port 21 is a dedicated port for (DNS?)
If you don't know its ok, just curious

If AIM doesn't work, you could try AIM express. It's a pain in the ass though, but it does what you need it to do.
