no, I will buy cds from independent artists. and I will buy movies that are made by independent artists.
Other then that I will not support the riaa, there cds are two expensive.
MOvies, are good to buy especially dvd. THey are reasonable, around my way they go for like 5.99 a dvd.
While a cd goes for 15.99 to 20 bucks.
so I will not buy a cd, for that price, unless its from an independent artist. But independent artists price there cds reasonably.

I would like to know where you buy your DVDs? Are you sure you're not mistaking that for the prie of a straw at movie theaters?

Actually, mp3.com was bought by Vivendi-Universal, a major record label and RIAA member, a while back (there's quite an interesting story behind how mp3.com ended up with so much debt they had no choice but to sell out).

I don't usually comment if I have anything intelligent to say (unless it is a certain spam thread), but THAT WAS HILARIOUS ! LOL !!

Already been Discredited above
2. Dont BUY Movies from the store or online
I personally think it's better to buy in the store. Helps the local economy. But i think it's easier to buy online and sometimes cheaper.
3. Download LIKE You are ON NUTS and take control and get some legal rights back.
Like nuts man... *shakes his head*
Maybe you don't understand how the legal system works. Downloading does not help you get rights back. Write to your congressmen/women and get active in your local and state government by voting. Those are two ways that actually can contribute to help get.. whatever rights you are talking about back.
4. The RIAA and IDSA MPAA are fools LETS dont buy none of there shit and just download on the way..
What? I think those fools are making more money than many people. If they are fools, i want to be one too. That sentence is really grammatically incorrect, so i'm not commenting any further on it.
5. Get KAZAA lite to get ADD FREE and NO spayware or adware that will spy on you.
That's the first number i agree with, unless of course you would like to promote the growth of another network. or use verizon. I, luckily, don't have 600+ files shared.

What is up with this new way of typing every few words in caps? Seems to be a popular of writing style lately. I find it irritating, but hey to each his own.

I'll buy CDs when I damn well please. I could care less about who makes them. I think people are waay too idealistic about p2p. It's just a way to get free music; the RIAA and MPAA are never going away, no matter how much you think your downloading of Dude Where's My Car is going to subvert them. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's not nonviolent protests or a path to anarchy - its getting free shit, and I'll take advantage of it until I'm no longer able to. and if I see something worth buying (i.e. what's on my signature), I'll buy it.

Hmm.... its cool500 second post and i already see the third:
C'mon people Kazaa download fast Nuts ! Fools RIAA will kill not us ! Don't buy - kazaa download.
Maybe its not that funny, since its been said before but i can't believe that cool500 is promoting Kazaa once again. I think that this guy is lost in 2001 and he believes that ZP was created few days ago.
Kazaa is all about viruses. Plus, you can get copies of Backstreet Boys and N'sync records by accident and it can be even worse than any virus out there.
So my idea is:
Don't download Kazaa
Do not listen to Backstreet Boys, Eminem and N'sync.
Do not download anything that is recommended by cool500. :P
And buy CD's if you like them. There's nothing wrong about buying used CD's, plus you can support your favorite act or performer.

I've tried to switch to KaZaa Lite, but I can't uninstall KaZaa. I've gone to settings, Add/Remove Programs and it's still there. There is no uninstall with the program and yes Add/Remove works with any other program I want to remove. What's up with that? Is the only way through the Registry? i'm not that good.
I'd recommend just reinstalling kazaa again, then unistalling it. Should go away then. I'd also recommend getting ad aware and spybot to get rid of the spyware that kazaa installed on your computer.
The other question i don't understand. Might just be too technical for me.

Um...actually, I think the not buying CDs campaign started about two years ago, since the industry has been on a decline. And the motion picture industry has increased its sales, so obviously, they are doing something right (i.e. content that people want to buy/see).

A lack of proficiency in a specific language does not make anyone an idiot, or it'd make us all idiots every time we're away from home. I respect anyone who makes the effort to speak a foreign language. The "idiots" are those who won't even try.

Can that ever really be true? I am sure members of the african american community thought Martin Luther King Jr was too idealistic or perhaps Ghandi was too.
The point is I see people bitching about corrupt business practices(M$) the RIAA nd a ton of other complaints in the modern world. Complaining is good but action is better. Sometimes one person stepping up to bat can change the course of history. Those sitting i nthe dismal belief i am one person when we are one voice as the masses of the world. The RIAA is feeling the heat ask their pocketbooks. Despite the MPAA seeing record years at the box office they still want more too..at what point are we going to say enough is enough?
Yes we're getting stuff for free and that's great. But the real fact is I think we all want to support just right now i know they aren't getting crap from labels. With every free file DLed the boa tightens it's grip on the RIAA til there is nothing left.
