http://www.zeropaid.com/php/top_prog.php?frm_where=1&frm_where_type=win

Read it well, dont be hasty, and dont take any wooden nickles from some of these evangelists here.

Search thru the forum for each app, look at the kinds of questions that are asked, read the likes and dislikes, then try one or two to start. If you just jump in to this willy nilly, your gonna screw up your system, and start all over.

It taked time to tackle P2P, remember that. Otherwise, ask questions, and have fun ! And welcome to Zero Paid, your File Sharing Port-0-let.

In addition to what Krell's saying, I went to www.download.com and searched each program there and read the user ratings. It's fairly simple to rule out the ones made by complete idiots, but you can see how they worked for others.

If you want to directly share with friends, then use Pc Anywhere.

Another bet is using a winmx chatroom to get together and share or set up a private hub with Direct Connect for all friends to get together in there and share.

Filetopia, WinMx, IRC and Soulseek are the easiest ways to do it. You can also do it with ICQ.

First of all, we are all your friends. Isn't that great? We all want you to share your music with us, particularly if it is new and underplayed and good, especially if you make it yourself and love it and want a fair break with the public instead of having to give up your various virginities to a record company guy just to get half a chance. We are all already sharing our music with you, over dozens of platforms Krell has pointed out.

Now, having said that, if you want to share directly with your buds there locally and nobody else *sniffles* well then ICQ is a good tool.

like Wolfie said, DC++, private hub, that is my overall favorite for a private session, not public, that is where it sorta bites the big one
