Is there any way to download all the pages on a site like zeropaid (at least the text) without manually copying and pasting, so they could be read offline (would save tieing up the phoneline).

Yeah, assuming your using internet explorer, go to File -> Save As but you might have to do this to all the pages.

You should also consider getting a 'web copier', such as WinHHTrack. I used that during my Sparknote days, so I wouldn't off to logon again to read the synopsis or whatever I missed. Just look on www.download.com or www.webattack.com and I'm sure you'll find a few that will fit you needs. I hope that helped some.

Save As is the appropriate way, leeching is not.

I still have all of my T-Shirt girl and Lingerie pages, even tho ZP does not, because I saved them.

Krell-Could you be more specific if that was directed towards me?I have made copies of a few artist's websites for offline viewing but don't see how that qualifies as leeching. It's the same material that is publicly placed on the web.Just curious.I'm always open to enlightenment.

What i think Krell means, Is when you download an entire site, it eats up all that sites bandwidth, when you Save As, it just copies the file from your temp internet folder to any location you want!

If anyone thinks i'm wrong, please correct me!

Krell knows a hell of a lot more than me, but until I am told otherwise, that appears to be what he means. It also makes a lot of sense.

I respect his opinion and am waiting to hear what he meant in the interest of "doing the right thing".

I stand to be corrected, if you save as, you are not using the sites bandwidth, and not slowing the site down. We have a lot of people here as it is, and we need to keep the speed up.

I was careful not to be too judgemental as I didnt know what your intentions are. When you say "entire site" I take it to mean "ENTIRE SITE".

That's is leeching, and most sites hate that, as you are raping their bandwidth and stealing their material, which is common on porn sites etc.

Leeching is just plain rude. It is bad netiquette. If you all you want it a page or two, save away, but if you want an entire site, on a regular basis, you may find yourself blocked!

Have I ever leeched?, oh hell ya. But I learned better. I still occassionally pull a stunt, like raping the F.A.A.'s FTP server, because it was barely read access only, and not very protected, so they need to tighten up, and it was a way of hinting at a sys admin. I still go to garage sales at a random .EDU as all the stuff is FREE. You'd be surprised the things I have found.

When one grabs files as fast as possible from a site, it loads down their servers and causes a negative impact on performace that affects others. When you click Save As, some of the data is already cached on your machine, so not very impacting, but when you want to "get" a whole site . . . . well, it is mostly wasteful, and you will end up deleting that data and getting more, etc.

This isnt an indictment, but there are a lot of idiots on the net, and it is on the whole, a very wasteful place. Lets just try to be responsible, especially to Zero Paid, and not make anyone suffer,

cheers

I've partaken in a bit of leeching....

Got banned for like 5 months and was stuck using proxy to check out shit.

I knew I was gonna get banned, but said fuck it. Might as well get all the content before they wise up and start charging. And if anything new was put up I could always proxy and get that tidbit.

Anyway, if you do use something like Httptrack I suggest you limit the connection and bandwidth to at least half of what you normally use and only set it to connect once. That's what I did, still got banned, but I didn't bog 'em down. They were just ticked that I grabbed everything and never signed up for their shitty DivX videos....

Peace

OK-Sounds like a "failure to communicate" as the warden in Cool Hand Luke said.I just get album song list's and musicians credits for out of print releases off of websites so I can recompile things in the way they were originally released.I've never stripped a website like ZP.
Level-headedness rules.

httptrack works good, thanks. Is 56k gona piss people off cause I averaged only about 3.8KB. When you say banned do you mean the actual site blocks your IP address or do they complain to your ISP. httptracker is useful to me for downloading technical documents like guide book sections on sites i wona study for some time. cheers
