Yes www.Freewebs.com is an excellent hosting service you get 1gb of data transfer a month, no ads, free guestbbok, and 50mb storage. that pretty good for a free service.

http://geocities.com
The problem with Geocities is that you have to have a yahoo email account and you cant do direct ftp on free accounts nor can you upload *.exe on free accounts.

I appreciate everyone who has posted here to help and my site is at most a week from being finished.....now I have run into a dilemma. I have made my site and am almost finished. It is time to test it, to do that I must upload it through Ftp. now the problem occurs, I can't have a banner on top b/c it messes up my navigation for my site but I need a free host. Web1000 does not allow the type of publishing I want to do and lycos will not connect with any ftp program i have tried. Does anyone have any ideas?

What kind of publishing? brinkster.com allows ASP, streamload.com allows multimedia, give more clues

Check out these packages

if anybody wants a good paid-host, check out www.34sp.com, their service is £15 a year (about $21, 22 euros), go here (http://www.34sp.com/hostingfeatures.shtml) for more info.
dont forget that many countries cannot view pages on web1000 (including the uk)
