Just a simple question that maybe someone can answer.
WINMX has been doing alot of tinkering with there P2P program what has it been 3 updates in the last few months?

So The question looms over me like a dark cloud , EVery time they update the older version no longer works you have to get the new version... This must mean they have some control over the life or death of win MX and with all the lawsuits going around AUDIO Galaxy being the latest victum :fire are the people at MX just covering there bases... but if the have controlover there service a lawyer maybe able to use that in court.... eww dont want to think about it......

does the WoRRy any1!!!!!

Yes, it is obvious that WinMX can be shut down just as easily as Napster or Audio Galaxy.

It it not a question of IF, but WHEN.

Having a "decentralized" network makes no sense if the log-in server is centralized and totally controlled by the company.

Its unfortunate when they do have to close down. But there is always a new one that can be used.

But they're Canadian. There in that country the mighty and greedy hand of corporations has been held in check, whereas in the U. S., despite legislative gridlock on other issues, plenty of laws have been passed in favor of the corporations, like the DCMA1998. That's why WinMX is a success; because it is located in a consumer-friendly country.

WinMX just helps you to connect. I don't think they help you with searching or downloading, that part is decentralized. In the Netherlands a court has said that this is not illegal! (case against Kazaa)
