Decentralized....no central servers, typically in this situation some broadband users act as "central hubs" that connect to each other to form backbone of network. Each of these (WinMX primary connection, for gnutella its superpeers, ultrapeers etc, kazaa its called supernodes)and 56k (and firewalled) users connect to them as a gateway to the network. Each of these Supers act as a mini server/client. When a file is transferred it is not transferred through the server, but directly from user to user.
Centralized (like opennap) all searches are proccessed by the server you log on. It contains list of each users shared files..and during a search it searches these lists that have been uploaded to it by each user. When a file is transferred it is not transferred through the server, but directly from user to user.
opennap is a server that operates under the opennap protocol (sim to napster's old protocol) it is a centralized system that works in the way defined above as centralized.
Web Based....Well web based would be centralized by default...but not all things centralized are web based...but your term is a little to broad to really even try to get specific...hope this helps
