Yeah, there is a reason I've been holding back for a while. The womans son checks these boards (well, at least he came to them when he read the story on another Mac news page) and I don't want this to turn into a make fun of fest for the lady. Let me say this again, the reason I posted this whole story was because I was amazed at the fact that the computer still worked, NOT because I thought the lady was stupid.

Here goes nothing (the condenced version):

The womans son checks mac news pages, he found the story and started following it. He came into the store with 60+ pages of printed material of this thread and all the other locations the story had popped up, and demanded the computer back.

After being calmed down, he pointed out the fact that it didn't seem like I was trying to make fun of the woman, but that it just got out of hand.

Anyway, the son apparently was explained why we quoted her the price we did, and he agreed that the price that was quoted was fair. I guess he hadn't gotten a chance to actually look at the machine (well, except for online). So after being explained the situation, he wasn't upset.

I was not there when he came back in for the computer, so that's just what I was told.

And here is the answer to the question everyone has been asking:

She spilled water on it and was attempting to dry it out.

oh yea they are. I work in IT fixing computers and i had a user who put his whole IBM desktop (the flat style not minitower) in the dishwash cause it was dirty. crazy what people think.

Yea, we were in the computer lab at school and I put a little sticky note in the CD ROM drive that said print on it and then opened up microsoft word to show the guy sitting next to me how to print so I typed in print exactly how it was written on the sticky note. He didn't see me stick the sticky note in the CD ROM drive so I clicked print but then I clicked cancel but he thought I clicked OK and then I opened up the drive and showed him the sticky note and he believed me. The actual printer was on the other side of the room so he was trying to print what he printed out and he opened up the CD ROM drive and couldn't find anything. He kept on trying and actually told the teacher to come over and helped him and told him that the printer was broken and showed him an example. It was funny as hell. The teacher finally explained to him how to actually print and the whole time I couldn't stop laughing.
