I just ram adaware 6 basic and let it remove everything it found, including new.net
After that the computer could not access the internet. It has taken me a couple of hours to fix it.
Some adware replaces a windows
dll so net acces breaks when adaware removes it, see here (http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?act=ST&f=8&t=1436)
I am very dissapointed with lavasoft, adaware at the very least should have given a warning that removing new.net might break internet access.
I wrote a post (http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?act=ST&f=24&t=3674&) in the lavasoft support forum giving details of how to fix NT4
and another one (http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?act=ST&f=8&t=3675&) having a rant at them.

The problem of people running adaware6 and loosing internet access seems to be quite common. Watch out
