LeechHammer is a program that let's you keep control of who is downloading from you in Winmx. I have found out that it is a great program and when using it, you will not see ONE leech in your queue ever.. It's just that great, Hey, I couldn't believe it myself until I tried it, but damn did I prove myself wrong.
So if you use Winmx and want to let honest and good people who share download from you, this is definitely the program for you, this program (hopefuly) will take care of leeches once and for all and over time, might even make the network leech-free..It's a longshot but if more people have the program, I'm sure leeches will realize they can't download unless they share and they will either leave or start sharing, thus limiting the queues..
Btw, can't wait for the new version of Winmx to come out!!
Here is the Official Site for the program:LeechHammer HomePage (http://www.smartgamez.org/index.html)
Download (http://www.smartgamez.org/download.html)
If you are interested, there is a news story on my site about LeechHammer, if you would like to visit Go to FilePortal (http://fileportal.sprycha.com)
Enjoy everybody.. let's make Winmx a better network once again!

I installed LeecHammer. Worked great, but when I shut down and rebooted, it tried to reinstall it again like 10 times. Is this a random bug, or have others experienced it also?

Thank you for the news and the download location. I'll pass on it though seeing as how my interest in WinMX is gone.
BTW, i'm still waiting on the
"Queue Hammer" hehehehehehehehe.

I removed LeecHammer and redownloaded it from the guys Official Site. Works great now! Either had someone trying to attach a trojan to the other version, or he fixed the bug. In either case, its fixed now.
Love it! Can we say bye bye little leeches! :-)

This program is a keeper; the many features of this program should have been part of WinMX a long time ago.

Is there any way of getting leechammer or any anti-leech prog to hammer users who have kiddie porn? I don't really want to share my files with these vermin.
Thanks

no.
but u can sit and manually cancel, after browsing everyone's files.
if u want to sit and actually take the time to do that.
leechammer is only basically interested in whether people r sharing or not.

I downloaded Leechammer yesterday, and I agree it's a great program. It does everything you all say it does. The thing is it
really messed up my system. What I mean is, it used so many resources I could'nt do anything else faster than a snail's pace.
It messed up my pop-up menu boxes system wide. When it
did a scheduled check of the upload files, the whole system looked like it was on the verge of crashing. I have uninstalled it and now everything's fine. Has anyone else had these problems? I've never had a program screw with my computer the way Leechammer did. Too bad, since it did work great in
controling leeches.

I decided to set LeecHammer to cancel leeches - my only concern is brand new users who haven't had a chance to download yet. I wish it had a setting to allow those in.

i agree.
those with say 15 files, just getting started r sort of fucked when it comes to this app.
but when it comes to the "zero files"......u can be sure they know exactly what they r doing.
to be safe.....try sending them a message and u can be sure they have it turned off.
most newbies won't bother with that and u can send them a message stating that they should burn a couple of mp3's, so that they r sharing otherwise they will probably get booted.
i keep mine at the lowest it will allow, for the exact reason u mention.
@ Mr. Sleazy......if u read up on the Q & A over @ the LeecHammer site, it does state that u may have some problems.
go check and see what could help resolve these problems.
i can't remember them all....but it's there.
good luck.

Good idea, Lamourlady. I keep messaging off, though, so I changed my name to LeecHammerUser76421 to scare off leeches - and give the message to the newcomers. I'm still getting quite a few leeches that try me out anyway - that's stupid, because they heep getting booted and eventually hammered.

Wonder if anyone can design a LeechHammer for other P2Ps? I swear, going thru my outgoing queue, out of about 20 ppl I've found about 5 ppl not sharing anything at all, and about 7-8 more sharing incompletes/unorganized/non-mp3 files.
