The Boss Mustang is a result of a Car & Driver competition between Ford and Chevy. It's essentially an old 10(yes, ten) liter Boss 429 engine dropped into a 94 Mustang shell, then sooped up to hell. You can see they were pretty successful, with a 1.8 second 0-60 time. What do you expect from 780 ft/lbs of torque? This was a one time concept car, no others currently exist.

no it wouldnt. its only .1 secs faster in the 0 - 60 trial, and the ligenfelter corvette has a top speed of 240. it also boasts over 800 horsepower. they would most likely be neck and neck the whole time until they reach top speeds in which the corvette would win. and no i am not dissing the boss mustang, i love the boss. but that is the ONLY ford i like. chevy beats the pants off of any other ford.

I know, I was just joking about blowing the doors off, but I bet with 855 horsepower, the top speed of that Mustang is somewhere well over 200 mph itself, not to mention that Mustangs are geared higher than vettes. When my friend does a quarter mile drag in his Mustang it is doing 135 in 3rd gear as it crosses the line! And that's less than half the horsepower of this bad boy.

Overall, I think Ford is a disgrace to America. Their cars are the ugliest thing ever. The Focus, Fiesta, on and on, are all junk. I hate their club wagons, I hate how they make an endless array of SUVs (Chevy seems to have the same ailment), and I detest the fact that they own good car companies like Mazda and Volvo.

That's pretty sad because Tempos are made by Ford too. I know a guy that has 2000 Ford F-350 with a V10, and dualies. That thing gets HORRIBLE gas mileage (he has two huge reserve tanks! and it gets like 4-6 mpg) and my 1.3L Rotary RX-7 would smack it around like a red headed step child in any kind of race.

It's all about German, Audi, Mercedes, VW, actually anything that comes out of Europe is a nice car. I am partial to Dodge, but i will admit some of the professionally tuned corvettes are the fastest cars on the planet. Case in point the callaway "sledgehammer" corvette, which is the fastest street legal car in the world.corvette (http://www.callawaycars.com/Corvette/Sledgehammer/sledgehammer_article.htm). I think this is still the champion although it was built in 88 or 89.

I have to admit that I own two Fords. One Explorer and a Focus. Neither of them have given me any problems that I could not fix easily(just basic maintenance). However, sometimes I wish I had hands the size of my 1 1/2 year old daughter to get at some of the parts. However if I had the money I would probably go w/ either a Honda or Toyota. Ford: Is only good with the mustang..other than that i don't like the pickup trucks nor the other cars, but the ford dumptruck is pretty nice.

Dodge: The viper is awesome..and the Dodge 2500 or 3500 series pickup truck with a DIESEL engine is cool for dodge.

Chevy: is my favorite, the chevrolet camaro V8. The 2500 series Extended cab V8 2003 Silverado is the best pickup truck ever.

As an import fan, I'd have to say Ford. They are more of an import company than domestic now it seems, with the exception if the Mustang, which keeps Ford listed as an "American" car company. The Ford Focus is Fords new powerhouse, and sadly overlooked by many Americans. The Focus has gained respect because of it's World Rally Car version. For the Nascar fans; the World Rally Championship is perhaps the second most popular racing series (after F1 of course) in the world, and the Focus WRC is all wheel drive and features a 350hp turbo-charged DOHC inline 4 engine that unrestriced can produce 650hp.
Anyway, the Focus was obviously a European design, as was the Ford GT40, the famous multiple-winner of the Lemans.
Also do a google search and check out some pics of a car I WISH Ford would bring over to America, the Puma. It's also a popular rally car platform. And you can't forget the Ford Cosworth cars!!! Beats a "SVT" version any day.

Oh i also had a 89 ford F-150 for 2 days, the head was shot and it was $750 for new ones unlike $150 chevy heads cost. But just these two exeptions, fords are made of very strong and have "mostly"rust free bodys.

The back bed was not even aligned with the cab, the 4x4 sucked. the truck sat way to low. I couldn't even off-road in it cuz I was afraid I might break something. Well, I went to the FORD Dealer with the Chevy 2500 HD. The salesman ask How I can help you. I say, Can you please take this piece of shit of a truck off my hands and give me a real one. He says, "well this aint no surprise your the 4th guy who came in and traded in a chevy 25000 HD for a F250/F350". The Ford Dealer almost did not want to trade in the truck becuase it was a chevy and nobody would buy it and it would just sit in the lot. I negotiated with them, and sure enough they took the piece of shit off my hands. My dad was disappointed at the quality of the Chevy 2500 HD as well. I would go dodge for the cummins but it comes with the rest of the Dodge truck which is puke.... horrible worst truck every made. i pay about 800 for a new used car every other year, if something breaks on it that would cost more then 400$ to fix i just get a new car. Works out great!
