I experimented with WinMx and Shareaza but then I decided to download kazaa. I decided to try K++ v2.03, the one where you had to add registry files and edit them. But I could not get it to work. As there was no uninstaller I manually deleted all the files including the registry files.

Then I downloaded and installed k++ v2.0.2 edition build 5 but still had no luck. Worse still, WinMx and Shareaza now no longer worked. So I uninstalled them together with this latest k++ v2.0.2 and re-installed the k++ v2.0.2 but I this again failed.

With each install I got the same problem, when I tried to connect kazaa the whole desktop froze and I could not even get the task manager to cooperate and the only way I could reboot was to switch the computer on and off.

I hope this does not sound too confusing and that someone might be able to come up with something that could help.

I've never heard of so many problems for one person. Are you sure you're connected to the internet? Ha ha

Maybe you could give some system specs like OS and stuff.

I am using Windows 2000 Professional. Not sure what other information to give as I am not a very techie person.

you might need to drill some holes in your firewall, with Klite++ you can set it to be the port that you want it to be.

Actually the problem starts as soon as I start Klite++.

Sometimes ZoneAlarm gets a chance to request permission to connect Klite++, but after that everything freezes.

uninstall it and

You need to do a www.windowsupdate.com and update everything that you can and get rid of any spyware and adware that might be on your computer from other programs that you have install through the year.
www.pestpatrol.com is a good one that I use and you can try it free.

Also how much Ram does your system have? Do you get a VxD error? Blue screen like. It seems to me that it hangs only from this program it just might be your explorer, update it/everything.

Once you have it installed again, disable your firewall, and try again, my firewall sometimes freezes new programs until i hit the proper key, but the easiest thing to do is to disable it until you find the problem.

What's the sence of having a firewall then?

I have Zone Alarm 3.5 Just have it set to medium and allow KaZaA in the program list fall access and this can be done by just left clicking Access and Server on the right of KaZaA so you see all Green Checks. Zonealarm never freezes up any programs it only blocks programs until you allow it.

Maybe this is what the person is really saying and it's not freezing up the computer? :(

Try asking you question here (http://66.111.40.101/bb/index.php?) in the guestroom or problems sections. There's a little more technical advice available, but be specific in your post.

Bye the way. After uninstalling everything did you try a system restore point? You registry and everything should have been backed up.
