Hello peoples,

I just registered today ! I've even visited the site some times but today i was finnaly interested in talking in the forums (sorry, for gramatic and so on.. my mother language is swiss)

To my questions: Some months ago I changed my browser after i've experienced the possibilities of hacking the IE ( i-Frames and so on..). I went to mozilla, Build 2002121215, a good choice I think. But i don't wanna have that IE longer on my HD!

What ways are there for minimizing or even partially deleting (I know, the one ist "generally" write protected..) the influence of IE?

Thanks for all posts! Sya :bk

Well before we can help you we must know what version of Windows you are running, is it XP, 98 or Me?

To remove IE in XP you do the following:

1. Click the start button and go to "Control Panel" and then "Add or Remove programs"

2. On the left you should see a button called "add or remove Windows components" click on that.

3. Near the middle of the list it pops-up you should see an entry for Internet Explorer, take the check mark out of that and hit "OK".

Congratulations! You have removed Internet Explorer from your XP machine!

To remove IE in 98/Me you do the following:

1. Go to "My Computer" in the desktop and to "Control Panel"

2. Double click on icon that says "Add/Remove Programs"

3. Somewhere, possibly the middle of it you should see and entry for Internet Explorer. (I might be wrong here since I don't exactly remember what it looks like, but) either double click it, or single click it and then choose remove, and follow the prompts.

Congratulations! You have succesfully removed IE from 98/Me!

What version of Windows are you using? And is there a reason you want to remove it. Microcrap dosent make it too simple, but you can always set a different browser as default if you dont want IE as the default.
