I have configured a two service ports in my Netgear FM114P wireless router. One is a TCP at port 6699 and the other is a UPD at 6257.When I connect with Winmx I have no problem with receiving incoming files but all of those wanting to download get only "Awaiting incoming connection" and "Timed Out"

Have you tried closing winmx and opening it again or
disconnect/reconnect on the network screen.

Is winmx set to use those port numbers?
Is the router forwarding the ports to the right computer?

What OS? Are you using personal firewall software and have you told it to allow winmx to be a server?
Is winXP's built in firewall on?

Yes I have tried reopening WinMX. The ports in WinMX are the default TCP 6699 and UDP 6257. I set up those ports in the router. I don't know how to check to see if they are being forwarded to my computer. I am using Sygate PF and it shows to allow WinMX in the applications window. The XP firewal is disabled

Try rebooting the router (unplug and replug the power cable). I have do that in mine everytime I open new ports.

I have the very same problem. I have Optimum Online Cable, a Belkin Wireless Router, my ports are forwarded correctly, rest the router and computer countless times, WinXP firewall is disabled and just about everyone that tries to download from me times out. Occassionally I'll get someone who is able to connect to me but it's rare. Please help. Email me at XtraCrispi@geocities.com Thank you.
