Maybe you should get more news moderators. Get ones that show up alot.
That will keep news going fast.

Same here... I couldn't access it until today (I didn't try yesterday, I was studying for finals the whole day). I would have posted them earlier, if I had had the access. More often? We had published every article at most a few hours after it was sent, before our access was taken away.
Another thing... do you want standards for links, how we link to sources, and titles? It would give the news more unity. Such as:
Removing "Released" from the title of releases
Using bullets to link to sources and other sites instead of just referencing them any old way
Using lower case letters for titles after the first word
This is just an idea, and I don't care how you want them, but we need guidelines :-)

HA HA HA that is halarious..
What was wrong with the old ones the news was being kept up pretty good IMHO..
Please for the love of god dont give out mod/news admin to just anyone who askes especially the anklebiters which i know they will harrass the hell out of you but realize why do they want to moderator or be a news admin and thats because they only want the power over others and those who get that kind of power but lack the patience, experiance and understanding make them very dangerous.

Hmm....could the news mod's not being able to log in be a residual effect of that CJ spam crap? Cuz I recall the news section being 'shut down' for a bit because of it.
Dver: Yes, Seph's a mod.
SB being a mod/news mod or being in any other form of power....would be chaotic....
Oh and...Seph laughed again! That's like twice, it's good to have village idiots around....they keep him from turning to stone. ; P

Forum moderators are seperate from the news moderators..
Which who said that the site was looking for newer mods anyways. The current ones cant get to the control panel caused by all the flooding last week to post which is why news hasnt been updated.

News just takes longer to get on the front page than other p2p sites. I was just suggesting that if we get more News mods the faster News will get on the front page.
Sorry Seph for making a suggestion. I forgot, everything I say is wrong. You got the power seph.

About as long as it takes for a ZP mod to do a copy n paste from the front page of UTC or slyck.

About everytime I submited news at UTC it got on the front page in about 10min. Sometimes here we have to wait hours.

Quantity isnt what is needed its organization..
The news mods need to coordinate better so that news can be checked/updated as least evert hour maybe even more during the day when newer stories are likley to come out.
Having 50 mods who will only check it in the afternoon or at night wont help things.

So Zeropaid needs News mods that are here in the during the day? I think the mods Zeropaid got now can't get on during the day.

When I post news, I restate what is said most of the time, never copy and paste. I have never visited slyck or UTC to get news for ZP, or seen many stories that were from there.

It has been updated that often before we were denied access.
We also are in different time zones here. I may check it in the afternoon, but during that time, news is usually published as it comes in, or not too long after. I do not go and look for news most of the time, I just publish the ones that come in, and edit them extensively. I'm not a columnist, I'm an editor; or at least that is what I thought.

Removing "Released" from the title of releases. For example, a release title would look something like this: BearShare 4.69.404
Using bullets to link to sources and other sites instead of just referencing them any old way
Using lower case letters for titles after the first word
Always open a new browser window when linking to an outside source
This is a good start.
Anymore ideas?

I just went through this whole post and not one of the people who replied to it seem to be online at the moment.
Are you sure that you have got enough people from different time zones to cover the news around the clock?
PornMaster
February 5th, 2003, 05:53 AM
Yes, now that stuperfied has mentioned clock, my clock says All times are GMT -5 hours. The time now is 07:50 AM(for the forum) but my PC clock says it's 7:16AM, and they are both set at GMT -05:00, this is not a real problem but i just wanted to bring that to your mind, Jorge!

Time offset:
All times are GMT +10 hours. The time now is 11:35 PM.
I took that at 12:01am, i'm in NSW Australia and I am submitting this post at 12:03

The Forum is telling me that I submitted that last post at 11:37pm Australian Eastern standard time. When I infact by my computers clock (which I have checked against my watch) I submitted it at 12:03am Australian Eastern standard time.
The Forums GMT Clock would appear to be approximately 26 minutes too slow.

The forum clock is exact, it is correct. I think the lag from your brain to your eyes must be 26 minutes. :;)
