In my office A proxy server has been installed and there is a firewall on it.
Since then My WinMX doesn't work .
I have tried to allow WinMX work on firewalled mode but had no results.
What can i do to bypass this trouble?

What have i To set in 'Outygoing TCP connection' >> 'Proxy Server settings?

Thanks all

If winmx dosn't work in firewalled mode then chances are the only way out to the internet is through the proxy.

Look at the proxy setting in your browser and in
control_panel->internet_options->connections->lan_settings

If the proxy is on port 3128, 8000 or 8080 then it is probably an http only proxy.

IIRC socks proxys are usually on port 1050.

Winmx won't use an http only proxy directly.

If the proxy supports ssl then running socks2http and setting winmx to connect tohte socks2http port on the local machine might work.

If not then the options are not so attractive. I doubt you want to run winmx on a machine somwhere else on the internet and control it from work.

There are a couple of http-tunneling services but they will be slow unless you pay. There is www.http-tunnel.com, google with turn up a couple of others and I recall computergenius mentioning one in a reccent thread (search for it).

You can set up your own tunnel if you control another machine on the internet to bounce off and can configure arcane network stuff.
