i am still using the winmx 2.6. will i be able to trade with users using the newer 3.1, 3.2 version of winmx?

No, versions 2.6, 3.1, and 3.2 are on separate networks.
However, you can still both connect through Opennap servers.

so u are saying tat there are 3 networks? (2.6, 3.1, 3.2) ?
wats opennap? the huge network in 2.6 (wpnp)?

As far as I know 3.1 is dead.
Just 2.6 and 3.2 work.
OpenNap is another set of servers that you can install into WinMx or OpenNap Programs.
It is completely up to you if you want them or not.
WinMX works fine without them.

I haven't used open nap since winmx 3.1 came out. I always had a hard time connecting and downloading from most open nap networks. Most of the times my dl would time out.
