DSL interference?

Hey, I was wondering something! (Yes, i wonder alot)

What could cause DSL interference?
(IE: making it go slow, not getting packets in time, not receving packets at all, getting disconnected all the time, ect)

this might seem stupid, but i left the dsl filter on the line when i switch from dialup back to dsl and it cause the same problems
