Eco G you are offering NO WAY for us to help you by not telling us what's the problem. Saying "I have a problem plz help!!" doesn't do anything. I personally think by what you said that you are a newbie who fears getting a virus because of what you heard from KaZaA or having hackers get your pc. This, simply, is gibberish and you shouldn't worry unless you go out looking for trouble by downloading .exes or giving people you dont know your ip address. To get a free virus scanner if that's what you want, go here (http://www.grisoft.com).

Now that I have said that.. would you please state what exactly is the problem? Along with your operating system, computer, ram, and virus software.

Ya no, after formating it's fine coz there aint any garbage on the PC, everything is clean. A new Car works good most of the time, only some old cars work good. In time all PC's will need a format to get it running at top performance again. How about try again.

ok...i formatted my pc coz it crashed so i couldnt start windws yeah...

so i put kazaa back on and it did it again...no virus coz i scanned all the files i d/l for them

it crashed again

aint put kazaa on so far no prob..there is no virus in the files i am d/l so WHAT COULD IT BE

first of all, your using winME. your gonna crash alot with that. i dunno what win2000 has for sys requirements, but xp needs atleast 128mb of ram. maybe you should think about getting some more ram. kazaa is a resource hog. as for the OS, you should get 2000 or xp, but you'll need more ram. other than that, im not sure what to tell you.

btw, does your computer just lock up and give you the blue screen of death? or does it actually crash... where you have to reinstall just to get your PC running again?

it locks b4 it gets to windows while in dos

The reason you're not getting much help is because you're talking like a dumb ass. People have no clue what you're problem is.

So post some errors, tell us what programs you installed right BEFORE this happened.

Give us some insight into whatever hacker shit you're talking about.......

If people are willing to help you, you should at least take the time to post in a coherent manner. .

if so, then i may have a few ideas

secondly, 2 firewalls runing at the same time (in my opinion) is not a good idea. You may receive conflicts

Dude, do you understand how hard it is to help you if you can´t explain the problem clearly?
I mean, you´ve said that :
a) your PC locks on boot up
b) the PC crashes when you open Kazaa (what kind of crash is it? Do you get an error message of some kind?)
c) you think you´re getting hacked. What makes you say that?

It would help to know what programs you installed after your last format, preferably in chronological order.
Also, which programs do you have running on start up (starting at the same time as Windows)? What version of Kazaa you use? How many firewalls and anti-virus programs do you have installed at the moment?
All of thsi might be important, so please try to answer the questions in order and calmly. Pretty soon, everyone is just gonna give up on helping you, so take it easy and don´t waste peoples´ time...

ok ive sorted all that thank you 4 tryin but it turns out there was a conflict with ME and my modem...

i have kazaa lite and mcafee firewall but when kazaa is open things can get in like pop ups (from other sites not kazaa)

how can i configure my firewall to protect me on kazaa aswell as it has on the rest of the net???

This makes absolutely no sense at all.

1) Firewalls do not stop pop ups....they stop intrusion attempts(although granted some like norton can be configured to block SOME Internet Ads)
2) A Pop-up Ad is not a hacker attempt
3) If Pop Up Ads are coming in from other sites you must have another site open to receive them
4) Or possibly you've been surfing some of the more ad-aggressive porn sites(or similar) in which case you need to install Ad-Aware 5.83 www.lavasoftusa.com to rid the system of any spyware/adaware etc:
5) Maybe you used something like normal kazaa before and something like BDE is still embedded in your system...then you need to download BDE Killer from the Kazaa lite download pages

Sorry I can't be of more help but there is very little information in your posts and it seems very confusing and contrardictory.Try explaining from A-Z exactly what you do ,exactly what happens and what messages or results you get.

I have had the same problems with Windows ME freezing up like that, it usually saays "wait while setup.... then failed to upgrade 1% from 2% and does not start up. I am not a noob but i haven't spent time caring about OS's and re-installing but it's getting ridiculous. so here it is - how the hell do i perform a re-install when that happens??? i had to pay a guy $50 to do thi for and it pissed me off. i just made a copy of Windows ME (it came with the comp) so now i just need to know what to do when it won't run and needs a re-install (eagerly awaits barrage of insults and profanity)

If it insists the easy way out would be look for a window near you computer and throw it out of it.

Ok, you're still not helping us....

Do you have KMD (Kazaa Media Desktop), or do you have K-Lite (Kazaa Lite, K++, etc)?

Use the latest version of K++ from www.k-lite.tk , you shouldn't see any advertising with this program

Also, use a program like spybot or adaware to remove any spyware from KMD

Also there is another good program to rid of rubbish that some Windows OS wont do.

It's called RegCleaner but I dont know where to find it on the net, never looked but I got it off a mate on CDR.
