Has anybody else had this problem?
I've just downloaded a relatively large file, about 300,000Mb. In the Kazaalite traffic screen it said completed, but when I went to look in my folder it's still a dat file.
What's happened? Do I need to trash this file and start again?

dont delete it, its prolly just a glitch, if it says completed but is still dat format, simply rename it to whatever.avi or whatever format it is supposed to be and it usually works.

no, just add .avi to the end
To be able to do this go to - Start -> Control Panel ->Performance and maintenance -> then go up to File Types -> view tab -> then scroll and UN-check hide extensions for known file types -> then press apply
BUT don't forget to re-check it. unless you wanna have to add an extension everytime!!

If the above mentioned things don't work you can try to convert it to AVI with the Kazaa Preview Extractor.

Ok since everyone has said what I would probably say, and the A/V experts haven't seen this thread yet.. then I will just ask a simple question. What the hell kind of video is 300,000MB? You mean 300MB don't you? Or am I just ignorant to a movie such as Titanic 2 where they have Leonardo DiCaprio floating in the water dead for 8 whole hours until finally sharks break his body apart and his lower half drops to the bottom of the ocean where algea forms on it. Or maybe I just need sleep.

Yeah sorry, I meant 300MB, I was thinking in Kb. It was an episode of Oz.
Thanks for the advice, I'll try it out now.

Hey thanks it worked.
I think the reason why it did this is because I moved the dat file from on physical hard drive to another, and carried on downloading on that drive.
Would this be the reason you think?
