He's boring, the white kids just needed a rapper and he's the one.
Like Elivis is King when all he did was emulate Black Rock n Roll. hmmm see how it goes?

At least Elvis had a killer singing voice, Eminem is just a joke. The music industry knows that stupid white kids eat up (C)rap music and buy it like mad, so they needed to promote a white rapper to cash in. Just as Rickio mentioned. I really detest black pop culture, and most white pop culture.

To me - Eminem is the same thing as Vanilla Ice. I don't like rap at all, but at least he have some humor. Anyway, people will tire of him very fast and in some 3-4 years from now his popularity will go down just because tricky producers will have someone to replace him (just as in case with Britney Spears, they have hundreds of her clones with guitars and pianos and her popularity now is equal to zero)

I don't want to flame you or make you feel stupid WB, but that is not a very intelligent comment as it does not apply to all, there are a few smart and socially aware rappers out there, i said a few, like Talib Kweli and Hi Tek, Mos Def can be one sometimes, but some call him racist, o well, just a thought, peace

Eminem is one of the very few rap artists i listen to.
He is a good artist, and at least he speaks his mind unlike other rappers who rap about gettin laid 24/7, those gay air force one shoes (That damn song is a DAMN COMMERCIAL, get it off the airwaves!), and the many who rap about thier cunt/dick.
Eminem is the only unique, not sold out yet rapper
Dre is good too, he tells it like it is.

sorry... i guess i generalized too much. i personally cannot say that i have heard of any of those rappers. maybe they are what you say they are, but i'd venture to say that they are not very popular. or atleast not mainstream, like eminem is. so basically, what i meant to say, was that the mainstream rap music is worthless in my opinion.
i can respect your choices of music; you dont just listen to the mainstream stuf; not just jumping on the bandwagon. hell, i'd be fine with somone liking polka so long as they weren't being influenced solely by what others think.

np man, if i help u see things a bit diff, then that's all i ask, but I do agree about the pop rap, but i guess that's just what the masses want, if you've ever read "Julius Caesar" by Shakespear, he paints a nice picture of how stupid the masses can be, can't say I never listen to the pop rap though, sometimes it's just mindless fun for gettin' crazy and havin' a good time, like at a party or club or somethin, I listen to many things, never polka though, LOL, i just wouldnt know where to find it

Personally, I think Eminem's a d-bag, but a d-bag who's good at what he does (play on white kids' angst and negative energy). He's good at making people pay attention to him and holding their attention. Also, some songs have very catchy melodies/beats.
On a side note, I'd like to make a public plea for people to stop using the "Huhuh, I'm clever, Crap has the word RAP in it...kekeke...I'm am Kl3VAR!!". It is painfully worn out (as if it were clever in the first place) and, if anything, displays an inability by rap haters to constructively criticize it, instead relying on "HUHUH!!! RAP=CRAP!!! w0000t!!!! HUHUHUH!!!" I mean, I don't like NSYNC but I don't go around referring to them as NSUCK (huhuhuh I am TEH FUNNAY!!!!LOLASFLFSLFSDSDAF)....

Rickio, I saw Emenem on an MTV sping break a few years ago when he was younger, he come on right before Bustah Rymes, what a joke. I do agree that some of his earlier stuff was a bit funny tho.

LOL, 23 Eminem albums, a bit much for me, but fuck it it's your money, I bought all 3 of his albums and I like him as an artist, but I do think his time is up and that he is fading slowly, but we'll see maybe he'll prove me wrong, all I know is that I'm sorta tired of him and although i won't hate on the guy, I probably won't end up buying any of his next albums

Eminem music is not bad, I would never download it from kazaa or buy it, but when I see a videoclip on tv, I don't switch it off, but just listen for a couple of minutes, why not. But actually the whole Eminem controversy is not real, you know. It has been created by his recording label to boost sales of his music. And I think most of you just fall for it and start this discussion - Eminem is stupid, Eminem is not stupid, hell, who cares? It's like a fashion - today it's fashionable to bitch about Britney and tomorrow about Eminem, but we don't mean a word of what we are saying. He's just a singer, so either you like him or not. Totally subjective, and that's ok. Personally I just ignore the whole discussion of Eminem, I don't care what he says or whether he slaps his wife or whatever. He's too unimportant. Listen to his music and then forget him when the music is over.

Don't give more attention to Eminem. He's got enough money/success. Let's talk about some great rap artists that are funky and talented like:

Missy E
Blackalicious
The Roots
All these artists have new albums this year that were really great. Check 'em out on a file sharing network near you.

I dont care about what others say about the music I listen to because I am listening to it and I am not hurting no one by listening to it. I dont care if others listen to stuff I dont like, but I am one of those people who will listen to something at least once before I say I hate it. And if I say I hate the artist its because I do, but I can always change my mind and like them again.

Like with any other subject from rap music to gay marriage. Each person is going to have his/her own individual opinion on the matter and part of bieng a member of a democratic society is respecting each others opionions even though we more than likely will not agree with them. Me personally I do like eminem over the majority of other rappers because of his lyrical quality he has something real to talk about although it might not be something you can relate to it certainly has substance versus rappers like Mannie Fresh ummm LiL Wayne to name a few. But see that is only half of the formula Eminem is fortunate enough to have dr.dre as a producer on most of his albums and we all know DRE he is one of the best if not the best at what he does he is a powerhouse producer.point proven. good day.

Anyone who admits to not liking rap, and then continues to provide their opinion on a rap artist... you need to take my name. It's like me saying I don't know anything about physics and then calling Einstien an idiot. Come on.
Eminem is pretty creative. However, I find the best comes out when he just opens up about his life. No different than most artists, he probably does best all fucked up too.
And to invite the flames... it would be no different than: Elvis, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Hank Williams Sr., Ray Charles. All of these artists were fucked up individuals who's contorted views of our world allowed them to create musical tapestries that NSYNC, Creed, Nickelback, Nelly, Brooks n' Dunn, any category cookie cutter artist could never even imagine.
Just my two cents....

You realize that Rammstein in Germany is like the Backstreet Boys here, don't you. Good music, but it's all pop somewhere. I mean... friggin David Hasselhoff sells records overseas. I like pop, it's designed to be liked. The hard part is to find intelligent pop, or pop that goes in a new direction. Not really since boy/girl band shit and Nickelback/Creed/Alterbridge has hit the radio has there been any real pop that does anything.
Oh, and for the Eminem/Dre connection, and the white boy selling records thing.... look for a song by R.A. The Rugged Man called lessons. It was on cnet music a while back... might be around out there somewhere, think it's on the Die, Rugged Man, Die! album.

Eminem is not a rapper. He's an incredibly smart business man.
And his older stuff was better, "Encore" (along with his Protogés 'The Massacre') were abysmal.
I used to be hardcore into rap and hip-hop but since then I have moved on to more of a rock/emo taste in music. I still like Missy though, I always thought she was extremely under-rated.
