Open up Regedit>navigate to HKEY CURRENT USER>Software>Microsoft>Search Assistant
Amongst the folders there you'll come across the 'search' words you want to delete..right click>delete>hey presto... gone.
There is software that will do this for you,yet once in a while it doesn't hurt to get your hands dirty in the registry, just be careful.

Baaaaa, I've heard of people doing that, and I've seen people do that., but when it comes time to do that, it won't work for me! It just sits there looking pretty and won't go away, baaa.

Spybot does that, and clears any other tracks you could ever think of....
