Ive noticed the new mods have turned trigger happy. Threads being closed, 3 strike rule (lol please thats pathetic), critical threads being deleted and so on. Lately, StreamOGs thread was closed after Hunter (of all people) came with some angered reflux. Well people, I think if you want a site with no flaming, no arguing, mods readily taking side with the kiddie in-crowd, why not go to UTC? Why ruin this place? Maybe some of these new MODS should go mod at UTC instead of here, since they seemingly prefer the UTC style? Because whats going on is not what we called ZP style a few months ago, it is rather what we were proud of NOT BEING!
ZP should maintain the freedom of speech ideal. It doesnt matter if theres a bit flaming going on (no it never was as bad as some people try to make it seem), it doesnt matter if theres some profanity or critiscism or even lame threads, its okay because its just one of the costs of being the USERS filesharing portal.
I understand that these new mods want to be efficient, they want to do a good job..but hey, maybe the job is not about forcing some personal, moral or whatever agenda on this site. Maybe some of you lost the perspective a bit when you became a mod, and thats understandable..afterall, theres plenty of ready run-a-longs to support you in whatever (mis)conceptions you have about what your task is in relation to this site...but please, this is taking overhand, good people are leaving while you please 10 or so kiddies whos main contribution is a few links and posts like what chick looks best and what have we. Dont kill the site by turning us into UTC!
Now I know critical threads are being deleted fast, so Ive kept copies of this post so I can repost it if needed be. To think that I have to take such measures at ZP..I thought the day would never come.

I don't think you'll find this thread mysteriously missing. You are showing your dissent with a portion of the site, without directly flaming anybody, If you remember what gorphon said in the thread you mentioned you'll see that was what he was standing up for your right to do so.
Second, who's the kiddie in-crowd? LOL
I think you mean me, and I will admit that statement at least makes me feel young.
Last, I think you are dead wrong. The mods have worked to clean up the site, and some people have found they have been asked to calm themselves, but remind yourself why they were appointed in the first place. People were leaving because every thread was an all-out flame war. That has stopped.
I'm not just saying this because I consider each of them a friend, but rather because they are doing a job that most of us sure as hell wouldn't want.

I tend to agree a little bit.

I sent IQ a pm about this, and i might have over stepped the rules, but if this is so all I that I have done is to try and make the site better.

Personally, I think it would be a better idea to close threads (not delete them) no matter how feces-laden their content. Of course, if there's stuff in there that's not allowed here, edit it, but tag that you did the editing so you're not putting words in peoples' mouths.
Deleting poor threads is deleting history, leaving nothing to be learned. At least people can look at a closed thread and understand what went wrong and why it was closed (if it was closed for a legitimate reason according to posted forum rules).
The reason I quoted your post, Hunter, is because I think that by trying to work with people like that instead of making a broad public statement on your opinion of the matter without even talking directly to the person (iq, in this case) with the complaint, you condone more of a respectful and positive attitude in the forums.
Now that I'm a total dork for analyzing everything, I'm off to careen dangerously fast around Dead Man's Curve on a harley or other popular 50's-esque two-wheeled motor-vehicle.

Jared you made some good observations, theres nothing wrong in analyzing things. My thread wasnt directed at Hunter personally, I just used the most esent example, the main points arent in any way personally directed towards any specific person. I just see things happening, you know, and I analyze too. Everybody whos been around here for more than two months know, or should know, that I have always applauded Hunters humane and insightfull point of view. That I feel ZP is moving in the wrong direction is a completely different matter.

I tend to agree with Cheapprick on most accounts.
The mods we have now are doing a pretty damn good job with some of the decisions they face. Seph is always making good examples, and the other mods (such as hunter) have been able to watch where they step while keeping the place intact. True there have been some times when I question a thread being deleted (like the "grab_grab???" thread wishing him a happy b-day) but most of it they are doing a fine job of.
I mean even with the new mods, compare this place with other file sharing portals.. it still stands out a great deal. And at least the new mods show up and take part, the old ones just up and left at some point.

I never asked for this job. To tell ya the truth I don't know why I was picked. CheapPrick said it best - "They are doing a job most of us sure as hell would'nt want."
MoonMan: I'm here till they "fire" me. Rest assured I won't walk away and I don't think any of my "collegues" will either.
CheapPrick: I feel the same way about you and many, many others here. A heartfelt thank you!
I think once this full moon is over and the surgical culling we have had to do is over, the place will get back to normal. You know, the wild, all out, balls to the wind place we all have come to love and hate. So people - love us or hate us but remember we are not perfect - only human....I think !
