I am wondering if it is possible to download an entire audio cd, instead of searching for and then downloading each individual song. If it is possible, how do I go about doing this? (preferably a free program)

Thank You-

I dont think this "princess allison" is a real deal, as CCSDUDE said it might be a RIAA spy

It is possible to download the entire album

Try looking for Albumwrap rips, try getting more information on that at http://www.infamus.com/albumwrap/

Honestly, I've never used it, but I know of some who do, hopefully somebody will be able to help you with keywords to use when searching

Another way I have heard of, is some people will zip their MP3's into a full cd worth, so you could try searching .zip extensions

Soulseek is allowing to download entire CD's without zips or something. Get it at www.slsk.org

There are afew types....of distro methods.

1) Zip's (my preferred method)
2) Just joining all tracks into one big mp3 (god awful IMHO)
3) Album Wrap
4) Using a hash playlist type feature (like the one in Kazaa) to download individual files but in an automated fashion.
5) Being able to download full folders (DC ++/ect). So people rip their albums and make separate folders for each. You in turn browse 'em and just select the whole folder (they download at a certain rate) once done you have a mirror of the folder on they're HD.

I sorta think this person is either another ZP member with another name, or some sort of RIAA spy....just a gut feeling. So I won't drudge up any hard details on the subject at hand. Those who wish to, by all means, go ahead.

I'm using soulseek as a client, people there mostly have full albums, downloaded about 300 in a month.
For me it's the best program for downloading music, also no advertizing at all.
give it a try

What are you guys talking about? You think Im with a company trying to get you in trouble? Sorry, I'm a 15 year old girl who is just a little tired of having to dowload individual songs to burn one album, and just wondered if there was an easier way. But whatever you want to believe.

Are there actually a lot of people doing this??? Any Albumwrap file I've queued up just sits there searching for days and never starts, even really popular files.... (I start these via sig2dat).

I've downloaded the program and the extractor. How new is the Albumwrap? I seems like a really good idea. I'm guessing that more people need to know about it. I plan on trying it out with a few of my CD's to see how it goes. I just don't want to waste the time doing a bunch if no one downloads them.

Albumwrap has been around for a while, at least a year, I'm guessing maybe 3-4

Most people rip songs for their own pleasure, not to spread the music

Honestly, you guys, I'm not that worried

I like Soulseek. The users' shared folders appear as they do on your computer (if that makes sense). If the person has a full album in a folder, you can choose to download that whole folder with one click, but still queue up as individual files.

People that appear to connect the way this one has, knows more than they are admitting.

Filetopia alows you download a entire folder. Most people sort out their mp3's in albums, so you just simple serch for a song, then serch the user. Hope this helped.
