When playing WMV files of 500K per second or above, I can hear the sound okay, but the video stop and starts.

I have a Pentium 200Mhz, 96mb and Windows ME, Windows Media 7, my graphics card is Cirrus Logic 2mb.

Without upgrading is there anything I can do to make the video performane better?

....in short, no, dude.....

Build or buy yourself a new PC.

You won't be able to play anything of decent quality video wise on that set up.

WMV is a bitch to convert and mostly not worth it, but you can....theres guides out there. Asf Tools will do it....but that's after many headaches with WMV SDK from Microsuck's site.

I've gotten a p1 166mhz with 80 megs of ram and a 4 meg Maxtrox card to play shitty VHS quality Divx....so it's possible.

Start a new thread asking for help on building a cheap system, many members are willing to hook you up with a decent rig for less then 500 bucks. Hell could even do it in 300 or less if you reuse old stuff.
