I have discovered that WinMX version 3.2 has many serious problems that were not in 3.1. (or even in 3.0Beta)

Most of the problems relate to poor connectivity. I use a secondary connection. (Win98)

3.2 takes a lot longer to connect.
3.1 used to connect right away. 3.2 seems to get stuck on "Finding network connections"

3.2 has a lot more upload and download connections timing out. Even those that do successfully connect seem to take a lot longer.

Whois and Browse do not work much of the time in 3.2

In 3.2, many messages I send do not get received.

Many users are queued twice in 3.2. I tried to message these double queued users to ask if they had a problem connecting, but all messages were bounced back undelivered.

I get often zero search results for words that were previously returning hundreds of results

I have tried rebooting, reinstalling, increasing timeout limits, none has helped.

There are some additional annoyances with 3.2, like features that were removed or altered, but that I can live with as this was a decision on the part of Frontcode.

Since I have only been using this new version for 2 days, perhaps it is just bad luck. I have got every function to work sometimes, but these problems occur a large portion of the time, perhaps several times as often as in v.3.1

Frontcode has stated that the main changes in v.3.2 were in improving the network connections of the primary nodes. Apparently these changes have come at the expense of the secondary connections.

have you reported these things to the people at winmx? they can't fix it if all you do is complain on zeropaid.

I upgraded yesterday morning and I had connection problems. I'm going to do what another user suggested on another thread and do a complete uninstall and reinstall 3.2 all over again ..I haven't had any problems with it so far today so maybe I won't need to.

I did a clean install of 3.2 a couple of hours ago and so far no problems, so that might have solved the problem! :)

I normally dont use winmx but I got 3.2 and left it on for 24 hrs and no problems, and uploaded quite a few files, seems like the new version is ok to me.

WinMX 3.2 crashed about an hour into it, without even a byte transferred (oplenty of uploads though).

I'm sticking with eDonkey, which for some unexplainable reason seems to be getting faster by the day.

I'm using primary connection though, I find it's really better then before. I have about 80-90% of downloads that finish, but the problem I still get about 30% of the time is when I choose to download a file and it just does not start, but it was worse (98%+) before.
If you wonder where I took these percentages, I just made them up, it's an estimation. :)

Of couse, I did not try to use Open Nap servers yet, so when I devide to download all the lists and add them all, then I might, and hope not, run into problems.

I have to agree with Nutty Squirrel. I had problems with 3.1 that pushed me away from WinMX towards other programs like Gnucleus & Audiognome (the ancient!). I gave 3.2 a shot and it's much more stable for me. 3.1 crashed repeatedly on my XP system if I used primary connection. Secondary connection worked OK. 3.2 feels as stable as 2.6 and there's plenty of music out there. I was connected as primary and to numerous OpenNap servers and it worked fine.
