Have you ever wondered what it's like on the other side of the news portion of the site? Have you ever wanted to contribute articles to ZeroPaid? Ever thought how cool it would be to be paid to do so? I'd like to point out that ZeroPaid is now hiring news writers (http://www.zeropaid.com/jobs/)!

You can submit samples of your work to the e-mail address mentioned in the link. This is your chance to meet well-known people in p2p and technology fields of your interests as well or meet new people in general.

As an added bonus, you'll get to work along-side me, legendary news writer for ZeroPaid, Drew Wilson! After all, how cool would it be to- ow! OK, it's not about me. I got it!

This is your chance to work for the very community you've known and enjoyed. The job can include cash and other incentives along with general pay for contributions.

So, if you'd like to hang out with the rest of the crew on an official basis, improve the overall quality of the community, or just plain see if you can show me up on the news front *looks behind for glares*, you can send us your samples to jobs at zeropaid.com. Experience optional, just show us that you can write articles.

This job description seems a bit lacking...

Here at Zeropaid, we hire writers. If you are passionate and verbose about any form of technology, we want to hear from you. Send some samples and a resume to jobs at zeropaid.com and jump onboard.

I think there is a job out there for a person to re-write the zeropaid.com/jobs page content.

Well, I suggested, "Jobs! Hiring!!! Money!!! Cash!!! Belarlulululula!!!!!" but that suggestion was turned down. :frown:

I'll have to think about it, but the idea does intrigue me. I like the idea of being a contributing member of the filesharing community, helping to inform the masses. But at the same time I do not have any formal writing training other than an intro to English class and technical communication class. Also most of the time I get all my news from you Drew, so I would have to develop sources, at least sources other than you and Micheal Geist.

It would also be funny to get a check from zeropaid.com, I like the irony.

Heheh. Yeah, there's always that sense of irony receiving money from a site called "zeropaid"

As for the background. When I started writing, the only real reason I was hired at the time was the fact that I posted regularly in the forums in question - though granted I also posted news stories from other sites regularly as well.

At the time, my background was being an entrant to a University and I was only just deciding what major I was going to choose. Then I came here where ZeroPaid had to compete against a handful of other sites to get me (I'm serious about that, there were other sites flashing incentives at me to join their writing crew instead - which is probably the best kind of difficult decision you could hope for in this field). Now I am who I have become today. Don't know if that helps you out, but that's how I entered the field.

Finding new sources of info is continually an ongoing development I found. I find that if you use the same half a dozen news sources, the news you report on risks getting stale. Let's just say that I don't use RSS feeds because of the pure number of sources I've collected over the years. Essentially, RSS is pretty much useless to me. My only problem is finding the time to write so many stories with potential.

Next thing you know News Corp. will buy out ZP, fire everyone then close the doors.:madgrin:

XD

News websites might become a very profitable venture then! I like the idea of starting a site, maintaining it for about a year, then getting handed a couple hundred grand and then repeating the cycle every year! :biggrin1:

...nah, not my style.

Hmmmm? Balls and excellent reporting skills.
Other then Clark Kent, what better can ZP ask for.:icon_cheers::icon_cheers:

I'd like to pen for ZeePee I, i'd love to work with Drew
I'd like to earn some dollar, not just singular but few
But something is confusing me, its twistin up my brain
So give me relief of cerebral type and my verses flow again

So ZeePee's Drew was writer two but now he's number one? :/
Where did writer Moya go, he's packed his bag and gone?
I'm worried if I join this crew my writing would get lost
On the one hand perhaps this news is fake? Jorge, "Not official post" :/

With Jorge's foot deep in Drew's balls the picture is damn funny
MC Justice rappin rhymes and being loosely punny
With a front page full of hacking stories, Emails getting spilled
We're getting so off subject here the topic's getting killed

So what to do to save the day? Get Mels_Smiley back!
Or get Tom from Slyck to post some shit and get his old self back
Grab Grab the Haddock, he could do it, but the jail house now is home
Since that fool done jacked a semi, cellmates make him moan

Fuckin Notbob here, shut your mouth, lame bastards one and all
My bitter tongue is acid deep it makes your flesh to crawl
I won't be writing anything unless the topic's grim
My cynicism knows no bounds, i've got spite right to the brim.

So what you say peepz, wot 'bout me? Justice bring da news!
I'm not an awesome wordsmith but I know a bit of Vuze
I'm familiar with a seedbox, with torrent and the warez
But the problem's deep and here it is.....

Filesharing? In 2011?

poor fellow's now chocking, on notbob's fat cock

but you i quite like, i think you will do
as long as your news write is not like this poo

I'll hopefully clear a few things up.

ZeroPaid is, in fact, hiring at the moment. Jorge and Chris are actually looking for more news writers at the moment and it is a paid position.

ZeroPaid is for file-sharing news AND technology, so you can cover much broader topics beyond file-sharing. It's just that the hacking stores scored huge in the traffic department, so it was wise to cover all the hacking news stories.

Jared is writing for us now as you should be able to see in the front page. That doesn't mean we aren't still looking for a news writer. It would be great if we could get one or two more writers.

It doesn't necessarily have to be news you have to write about. It can be guides on something like downloading from BitTorrent really. So if you're more about teaching people about something, we would also be interested in you writing for us.

ZeroPaid is also interested if you feel like writing "top 5" lists as well.

I hope that clears things up.

I just want to do what I do best, which is being an ass clown in the forums.

Now how much does that pay?

*crickets*

That's ok guys, just having fun for fun's sake is it's own reward.

Apparently we have a great group writers who frequent the forums. But I think more so for a sex column. I could see myself writing tutorials, reviews, and the odd news story. But I probably don't have the time right now to write. Looking at my work load with a new job I just started, it would probably be about 6 months before I have the time to write. So if you are still looking for people down the road I might submit some work, but as it stands I have far too much on my plate with my current training.

For those wondering, I dropped out of engineering and entered the emergency medical field.

Well, I don't write 365 days a year as I'm too focused on finishing school to be able to do so. So, you wouldn't be alone in not being able to write all of the time. I also know a looooot of people who switch majors like that for a long list of reasons. In fact, I sometimes feel very unique in that I have yet to change my mind on an intended major to this day.

Feel free to submit whenever any of you are able or want to. I doubt anything will be turned away. You can just e-mail it to the ZeroPaid e-mail addy. I would imagine the only thing you'd need to include in any submission is a real sounding name (why I have "Drew Wilson") and probably your forum name so the rest of the staff know who you are (should make things easier for them anyway) You might also want to include how often you intend on writing so the rest of us can figure some stuff out for you as well.

(Dub/Jorge - feel free to chime in if I'm off base on any of this. )

Damn Drew! You came out of the closet big time with that one.
I always took you for a macho guy. Not the Broke Back Mountain type.

Another illusion shot to hell. I have not been this disapointed or shocked since I found that another Canadian superhero, Northstar was also gay.

Is nothing sacred anymore.

I've seen sites in far worse condition than ZeroPaid. IMO, the only way you can really say ZeroPaid is dead is to compare it to Digg.com. Fine, the forums are a little slow, but I don't think you can say that means the whole site is dead.

Heck, this thread is close to being 30 posts long now.

Jorge

The forum represents around 1/12 of the sites traffic. About 5k page views per day.
