Havn't seen this myself but it has been reported by others.

google for "winmx file error 5" (http://groups.google.com/groups?q=winmx+file+error+5&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&btnG=Google+Search)

People have suggested various thing, I don't know if any of this will work or not.

solution 1

for all you people that keep asking about the file error 5 message
here is the fix. what you need to do is trim a couple of k off the end
of the file that won't resume. that will get rid of the little bit
that is fouling it up. if you are using winmx 3.0 bring the file up in
transfer window. then click on it and choose trim 2k.

Solution 2

Close winmx
Go to your downloads folder. Delete the file called "incomplete downloads.txt", reopen winmx
and click load incomplete.

solution 3
Make sure the files are not on the playlist or playing in a player. If you
have Windows Explorer open to your download folder try closing that. If you
have set Music Match to watch your download folder turn that option off.
