You're walking a very fine line about this. An O/S that you didnt pay for is warez, and thats a no-no here. I suggest you use google for reference to burning a bootable CD, and when you go to download such files, make sure you get a .bin file, or something thats an "image"
Otherwise we are limited to what extent we can help you with, and please do not mention the titles of what you DL here,
thx

like stated above, do not put file names here.
with that being said, does the file have two extentions? ie ".zip.exe", or "iso.exe"? if so, delete the second extention. kazaa users will often add an extention to get the file placed in a desired catagory, such as "software".

this is such a funny thread
the guy didnt say anything that would indicate he has a bin file and you flood him with information about how to and if its legal.
what are you sychic or the .bin posiability is more appiling for explenation?
by what he said, that when he pressed it he got black and white in the corner...... you can derive that,,,,,,,,.......you have no info to answer!

ive gone thru that a million times... you run an exe and a command line promt window comes up, and quicky disapears withen a second or two. every single time this has happened, i have been able to rename the file's extention and get it to work.
btw, the .bin thing is just a guess. .bin is a format used to make an image, exact copy of a disc. there are other formats that do this, such as iso, but .bin is used more and generally can have better results. dont bash krell for assuming that its a .bin, that is a very reasonable guess. krell knows what he's talking about.

...It would be funny (or err... not funny) if it was actually a trojan named something like Wicked_Awesome_File.OP.exe and he has file extensions turned off :-P

Should I assume this is one of your little cheap assed pots shots? Yah Im psychic, youre a p**** !
Any decent file download, ESPECIALLY an O/S, is an image file, that's WHAT he needs to know. I didnt say he HAD a bin file, nor do I care, I said he needs to GET an image file. So yes, I think "bin posiability is more appiling for explenation" as you so illiterately put it.
Little black boxes with white cursors are OBVIOUSLY not what he needs now is it? It could even be dangerous for him, isnt that correct?
Get your head OUT of your ass, and stop trying to second guess my judgement. Everyone knows I do not write long discourses when a simple answer will suffice. I am especially not going to any great length to help with a warez related question, and neither are you.
And if you're about finished blowing zero pain with your "you dont have the answer" bullshit, you can kindly stay the hell out of my business. This isnt the first time youve opened youre ignorant mouth, if you have a problem with me, dont be a little girl about it, step right up.

Well, this is in the wrong Forum isn't it? The post is not about eDonkey2000 or installing an OS. Maybe this thread should be in the place old threads go to die.
my name is quite an ignorant one for as many posts as he's had. You'd think he'd know Krell dispenses helpful advice by now.

not meaning to flame anyone, but isn't the whole concept of this site on a very fine line, i understand all the legalities that everyone must be worried about, it just all seems a little silly to me is all, everybody knows what is going on out there in the P2P networks, if its the site itself ur trying to protect i still don't get it cuz i see many posts where peeps tell others not to post, but instead to PM them for more advice, isn't that still using this site for the same purposes, just doesn't make 2 much sense sometimes is all i'm sayin

No flame taken, discussing in greater detail that P2P sites are already a fine line would be to overstate the obvious. It doesnt make a lot of sense to me either, until I consider what it could be like, if left unchecked. The last thing we need to do is undermine (no pun) our own best interests.
Let's pretend for a moment, that I think that every one of your posts are sound and make sense. Since I am not motivated to look them all up for this, I will just go with it.
There are many here, who, by most reasonable determination, do not have common sense. In fact, there are people who post here, that I would let touch my VCR. They just have NO damn sense at all.
What if, and this is not a big "IF", what if, they post links to warez sites, say . . . a lot of asta la vista, some crack sites, porn sites, maybe a little child porn, just a little, cuz, after all this is a free country right?
I am a stranger, I search google for wares, I find Zero Paid. I am looking for free Microsoft products, and I find a link to Zero Paid, telling me who what where when and how. I am was searching google for shoe laces, and I find a porn link, not to the porn site, but to Zero Paid as a referral.
More people come here, they too, have no damn sense, but they want to discuss porn, and warez, and everything under the sun but basic P2P information. When we have more questions in a months time, regarding cracks and "how to's" of that nature, than help with Winmx, Kazaa, DC++ etc, then Zero Paid isnt really a File Sharing portal, its a warez site with a fancy dress.
So as one who does have common sense, and does want to make contributions that we can ALL live with, Im sure you understand what I mean.
Maintaining the site integrity and mission statement should be everyones goal. Anyone that cares about being able to learn to use P2P apps, or get help with computer problems, should be interested in keep this site running without the risk of cease and desist orders. I volunteer not to crack the world for you, so that next month, I can still answer questions related to P2P. Just because one "can" do something, doesnt mean its in their best interest to do so.
Its one thing to border on criminal, its quite another to paint a huge target and yell "shoot me I dare you".

Its good you moved it to a more "proper" place. But the third sentence is of course not true and is an opinion. Try not to mix your opinions with your Mod duties. It doesn't "reflect" well.

Yes, my ego is as big as my commitment to salvage this site from little dipshits and warez crack whores.
If you think I am motivated by fear your quite ignorant in that respect. I AM saying, dont openly discuss warez. In fact , I am telling YOU not to openly discuss warez. Period.
This site is moderated, and I cant count the number of times recently that I have read a mod post : DONT POST WAREZ LINKS, DONT CRACK OR TRADE HERE.
So my question to you is, even if I disregard your spelling, which I dont really give 2 cents about, and IF I overlook you getting in my business, which isnt a good place to be, HOW in the hell can you be ignorant of the Zero Paid rules at this late date?
When I say : do you own work, find your own workarounds, or look for an iso, bun, image etc, THAT is that, it doesnt require your input at all. evilmegaman reiterated my stance. He gets it. Siskabush also says the same thing. WHY you dont understand is beyond me, but I am right, you are wrong, so fess up, or shut up, or both.
