Well, judging from a google search, they are a real company.

I am really really tempted to say this is no bullshit. And if it true, it is the RIAA's most aggressive effort BY FAR to track down and prosecute individual users.

IF it's all true.

Wow ! Some of us should look very close into this to see if this is for real.

Holy shit, this could be very serious, I heard about something similar to this, in the news section, winamp and WMP had a bug that if you hovered your mouse over an infected mp3, it would launch a script command, this could be very real, and if it does report back through the P2P client, its virtually undetectible, it could be passed off as background services

Somebody should really look into this, I checked the site, they seem VERY real

nah, it is bullshit. they would have the feds after them so fast their heads would spin, openly admiting to spreading something that would comprimise millions of comps is a big no no. Also the way it is written is VERY un professional.

Im not worried.

If they already have implemented it, they broke the law. That bill was shot down remember? Let me look up some info.

I'm thinking that this can also be a scare tactic.Don't fall for it.
If our computers are infected, we can sue their asses off.
If there's anything to worry, worry about that bill Berman is about to reintroduce that will allow them to do crazy shit like that.

I don't know if this is real or not, but I don't really know that I care too much, if they come after everyone using MP3s/P2P there will be a lot, I mean A LOT, of people to go after. If they want to send all those people to jail I'd like to know where they'd all fit, since many jails today are already overcrowded, and if they wanted to take everyone to court that would congest the court system heavily which is already very congested as it is today, so it is my opinion that if the RIAA ever stops MP3/P2P it will be through some type of watermark technology on the Compact Disc itself, but I'm sure that also will get hacked in due time, but you never know.

Its complete and utter bullshit, organizations that would operate on behalf of the RIAA would not boast about it, due to the nature of the alleged work would require being discreet.

The big give away is the following:

!If you participate in illegal file-sharing networks, your
computer now belongs to the RIAA.

Don't fuck with the RIAA again, scriptkids!

A proper professional company would not say how they or their client owns its targets system, and a proper professional company would not issue a press release/advertisement uses the word "fuck" as slang as a deterrent from disrupting their clients operation.

This looks likes it was written by an illiterate 15 year old, the company may be a registered company, there is nothing stopping a complete moron with no public relations ability from operating, but there is no way in hell a multi million dollar hugely powerful organization such as the MPAA would use them.

It’s simply a piece written by a hate monger trying to get attention by making inflammatory remakes. Just laugh at him.
