Someone has published some information about kazza file formats at http://kzfti.cjb.net/

The most interesting bit is at the bottom, about how kazaa finds supernodes by area of the world . The author also comments in
this usenet post (http://groups.google.com/groups?q=http://kzfti.cjb.net/&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&selm=avm3gp%24snu%241%40news2.tilbu1.nb.home.nl&rnum=3).

I havn't looked at kazaa or fasttrack much myself but from what I'v read ..

>So wate is kazaa really decenterlized?
It contacts kazaa.com at startup and takes a long time
to connect if it can't so I guess if the company servers
are closed the network will be disrupted.

>why is it so good?
The only public protocol information is the giFT0.9
release from a year ago. Until someone reverse engineers the
current protocol we don't really know how it works.

>I hope if Sharemen networks goes under(which they wont)
>relices/sells there sorce code.
The fasttrack protocol is licensed to some other companys so
it's the legal action against fasttrack rarther than sharman that
determine that I think.

Damn munchables, learn how to spell, "wate", did you mean "wait"? I'm sick of not being able to read your posts, most of us here don't know "idiot", so try to learn english please

Zap, if I remember right, sharman bought out the guys that designed the network, so they own it
