Firs off I want to say that I am totally against leeching, but my question is this. Is it still leaching when after you find a user w/ a good connection, usually T1 or T3, and they have files that you are interested in, and before you que any files you ask them if its cool if you dl some files, not a million at the same time, and tell them to feel free and do the same from you, but they never answer, so you commence w/ the downloads anyway, I only ask this cuz I've done this a few times, but never w/ out askin first if it was cool w/ the other person, also some people have flat out said no, which is cool, but after all isnt this whole thing meant for everyone to be able to share some good shit, i dunno just some thoughts

They are sharing them for a reason, when i had a really good upload speed it never bothered me that someone would download a load of files at one time.
Infact it kinda tickled me that i was providing someone with alot of stuff they wanted :)

I'm very often on the net to get the latest & anything interesting ..
I'm so lucky to have a 50MBit line all to myself and usually my biggest problem is finding other users with great speeds..
I hardly ever take a look at the upload window.. Even if 20
users are downloading from me simultanesly - I rarely notice..
Actually it's just nice to be able to give something back - I've downloaded so much =)
To sum it up: Just keep on leeching - most people leave their computer on 24/7 and doesn't mind. If your downloads repeatedly gets cancelled on the other hand..
I'm really interested in getting more contacts/sites with AT LEAST 10MBit connections .. can anyone give me a good suggestion for finding only users with FAST lines on DC, etc..?

I never really thought about it that way. I guess asking would not hurt but, when I share my files its there for the picking. Most of time I'm not even there to answer anyway. As for leeching issue, I believe as long as you are giving back by sharing your not leeching.
Undermind, did any of ppl that said "no" give a reason for it? Sounds to me they might have been into trading and you did not happen have what they wanted (I have ran into few on winmx).
Other than that why would one share on network and don't let anyway download from them? Isn't easier for such a person to not share at all (not that I'm advocating leeching or anything)?

I beleve that modem users, although it is very hard, have no excuse to always leech. I myself, am a modem user, and not a very fast modem user at that. I download my fair share of files from P2P communities and in return, i share all the files i can. I only have two upload slot open on any one program (if using 2 programs, 1 on one, 1 on the other), as anymore would make it too slow for people uploading off me. I always leave P2P progs on when im not using the net myself, and often my internet usage is 4:1, upload/download, respectivly. I beleave that everyone shoulkd help the communities of P2P progs and share.

If I find a good connection I browse the users files. If they have mutiple files I'd like I send a quick message (Good conn. will browse) and then go for it. That's what the browse button is for.
Depends on the number of people allready downloading from them (Wois) as to the number of files I go for at once. Simple curtisy to others.....
Its not leeching its called " Stealing form the Record Industry" oh,don't forget the artists and others........:fire

But why would you bother to ask? If the fucker has files to share, why should he care who is in the upload slots unless he is a braindead loser? All he has to do is to shut the fuck up and be happy about the files that he gets. Giving back, indiscriminately, is only his duty. If you dont agree with me youre gay. An have a small penis. And a small brain. And is stupid. And gay.

Is like giving to not giving to charity. You should do it less, but no one knows so what the hell, it's your modem right?
