The next release of eDonkey has been long awaited. With much of Metamachine's concentrations on Overnet, eDonkey development has been placed on the back burner. That's all about to change, however. The eDonkey/Overnet developers have informed us of the upcoming release, and some big changes are on the way.

The most notable change to eDonkey will be the integration of Overnet, perhaps as an attempt to jumpstart this fledgling community. Check out some of the details below:


-Core updates, there was a large amount of code-re-writing and discovery during the creation of Overnet, this is all backported in the next release.
-Skins, The GUI system from Overnet is here.
-Speaking of Overnet, this is a combined client, you may connect to both the eDonkey and Overnet networks, to search, share, download.
-For the first time ever, download links are working under Windows XP, even an "add all."
-We will be running a skinning contest to determine the default skin for this exciting new program

WOO!!! can't wait!!! don't know whether or not it will replace emule on my system...but i'll give it a try.

it's cool because it will be able to connect to edonkey and overnet.

yeah, and that will give me more sources for download...i'm frequently leaving emule on one day, and overnet on the next to get the most sources.

I can't et Jack shit.......I install either program and it won't connect nothing, and I tried for hours.....that is my main problem...:shy

you should set it to automatically update the serverlist from "http://ocbmaurice.dyndns.org/pl/slist.pl/server.met?download"

The problem is.....it won't even try to connect to the net....even with permissions ect, it just sits there like a dead stick

did you hit the connect button (with an updated serverlist)?
