well it's not exactly email, so i don't know why they (no, not the facebook guys) call it that. apparently you can now send and recieve messages via email that gets displayed in one single conversation allowing you to communicate in realtime. seems like a spin off of the poorly received google wave to me, but thats just me.
having kept off FB till now for various reasons, i wondered if this would force me to take it up just for the service. but so far i've seen some pretty unflattering reviews on this. just wanted to know what you guys think about this and for those 99.99% of you on FB, whats it like?

I have never been a face crack addict.
I joined a few years ago and was annoyed by all the junk people wanted to invite me to every day. I received on average about 30 junk mails a day, do this, join that, play this, so I quit, disabled my account about 2 years ago and never looked back.

It's scary how Facebook networks you. It's a program devoted to knowing everything about you even if you don't want to be forthcoming about personal information. It guesses who you might be associated with and asks you if you know this or that person. Say yes to any of those and it can guess more information about you. It's like those online 20 question challenges on speed. A family member of mine is going on two weeks with it. Already finding pictures of 'em on there complete with tags and information. Can't figure out how to get those pictures off of there either. This person is definitely not amused about it. Can't say I didn't warn 'em about it either though.

it has its uses and can be a blessing or a curse depending on how you use it. i untag pics of myself, and i don't tag others. if they want to be tagged, they can do it themselves.
as for the facebook mail, we'll see.... hate the chat, don't use it.

Facebook is only an issue for those who don't go to the proper lengths to protect their information. It would be nice however if you could block people from tagging you in any pictures without your consent. It should ask you before allowing it. But really I don't care if I get tagged in a picture, so its all good.

I use facebook and it does strike me to see how they use everything you write or do to apply commercials specially for you. And I have no doubt they gather all the information they can get. So no, I don't trust facebook, but it's fun anyway. I just don't do or write anything I don't want to be known. But that goes for all places on internet I think.

Google does the same thing, its target advertising. So long as they don't associate your info to your name its all good in my opinion.

They probably do just that. It's information, and it might have value. But we also are to blame, we let them do it, because we like all the nice stuff for free.

Relatively speaking, I suppose it is only a few inches. Takes less than 5 minutes to configure your privacy settings so only your friends can access anything to do with you on FB, including pics and the ability of people to see if you are tagged in them. You can't actually stop anyone seeing a pic of you that someone else put up, but you can control who sees if you are tagged in it.

Basically in this day and age, if you are going to do something stupid, assume their might be a picture or video of it made. If you can't live with that consequence, than don't do it.

Facebook is all over!! All of my friends and cousins are into so much of it. I admit I was an addict of facebook just like you and my friends, but I manage to stop using FB for 2 months now. Good for me
