well i finally rented grand theft auto vice city on my ps2, and i am really into the 80's music they have on the radio stations, i would have to say my favorite 80's song would have to be herbie hancock rockit, i was born in 1985, so i hardly got to hear any of that music, i know half of the people here were alive at that time, so what is your favorite 80's tune?

i have downloaded all of the soundtracks exept the latter 5 "mr. magic" tracks from the wildstyle album. no one on kazaa has them (that i can find). but VCPR isn on there, and the commercials and songs arent all the same as the radio stations. so i figure that when it comes out for pc i will get it and copy the music.

The pirate radio station always plays the best rap. some 80's rule I hate Prince and prity much all of the pop of the time, it is just horrable i can't beleve people listen to that crap. (lol we will be saing the same out the music today) I think vice city is a truly great game and the music is no execption.

If I'd have to name one particular song, it would be "That's Just The Way It Is" by Bruce Hornsby. I looove the 80s!

WOW HansG! Something we agree on LOL

The 80 were the best. The many varied types of music, the styles
(and AHEM* politics hehe) The 1980's was a very forward looking decade, even little things such as style of "futuristic" clothes, the abundance of sci fi movies etc. Sniff i miss the 80's

Psilaxs, it was going to happen someday.... don't feel bad :-)

I'd almost forget Phil Collins, I've got all his CDs including the newest and I love em!

The 90s never managed to match the 80s and so far the 00s looks like it won't even come close to ever matching either, this must be the worst decade for music so far...

I agree HansG Anything after 92 93 sucked badly very very badly.

I could perhaps get into newer music if it want for one trend that bugs the living shit out of me. All this new "Rock" Music is absolute shit, it is all dark and dreary "Im standing at the edge of a void (SCREEAAMM GROWL RAAAHHHOOR) My soul (More screaming and growling) being pulled into vortex the demons blah blah i hate my mommy and daddy".

All this new music is so dark. I HATE IT uninspired shit.

Whatever happend to "Nothing But a good Time" By Poison
or Dr. Feelgood or Unskinny Bop? ya know? HAPPY music.
I could go on and on. Dont get me wrong, sometimes a "pissed off at the world" song is good but that is all that is being made.

I was watching MTV the other night (Forgive me, i have no idea why) and they were actualy playing videos (I refrain from calling them music videos, since you would need real music to sync with the video, anyway) I saw mudvayne's newest, and it actually angered me how absolutely terrible they are, it actually pissed me off, that the youth are going to think that is good music.

If they can make it, i need to get into the biz, for i have FAR more talent then those talentless wannabe shock rockers.

Ok, rant mode off.

BEST Regards,
Psilaxs

I've put the three music channels I have on a row, so when I'm zapping channels I see all three after each other. Most of the time they all have commercials, are showing 'specials' or playing Britney or Christina music. Sometimes I think I'm actually watching Playboy Channel, but then I remember that I don't have that and it's just a music video.

One thing you could do is turn the sound of your TV off and play some music yourself... sometimes the music videos themselves are okay, you just need something that sounds good. Just don't turn the radio on, that kind of defeats the purpose!

Now where did I leave my Greatest Hits of the 80s?

@ Psilaxs - i agree with u, the 80s was definitely a happy decade, and this decade is turning into a depressing decade.

Stevie Wonder..lol great stuff. But in Hip Hop it was everything, rap died a miserable death at the hands of the westcoast at the turn of the decade(89 2 90)...PLEASE GOD let California slide into the sea will you?!

@Hans

Yeah, some of the videos may have neat effects etc, but i cannot get past the music.

So, what i do is just queue up a ton of music videos on my PC and watch them on my television (with sound going to the stereo)
Now i can have my classic music videos without the all the crap such as the little teen "Cock teases" bad singers etc.

BTW, see Christina GAGuilera's new video?
OBSCENE! (Barf Puke GAG) I cannot believe they show two guys tounging each other (shudders)

im just glad i was born in the 80's and not in the 90's, i like the music they play these days, probably caused im a brainwashed teenager, looking back on the things the 80's had like shows like the cosby show, all in the family, diffrent strokes (whatchu talkin bout willis?), and many others. anyone remember when the nes came out? damn that must have been a big hit back then, anyone remember the first version of windows that came out? lol sorry i had to bring that up, but im curious.

Well Borgster... I do remember when Microsoft released DOS 5.0, I had just started getting interested in computers and the first thing I did was accidently format my entire 20 MB (?) harddisk :)
"It wasn't me"

That was just after I had given up my monochrome orange coloured screen on which I used to play a game where you type a word before it hits 'the beam'... great for working on your typing speed, but back then I didn't even have WordPerfect for DOS.

Windows isn't too old you know! You can't imagine how long everyone was using Windows 3.1, it went on for ages. That's why Windows 95 was such a huuuuge step forward.

Psilaxs, not sure if I've seen the latest one but that Christina is nothing short of a whore. I'd hate to think what this will do in the minds of 14/15 year old girls, seriously. I do sound old like this, but the way things are going? It's not fun, it's not hip, it's just obscene...

Not a bad idea by the way to watch old videoclips, they're not easy to obtain though in good quality (which makes me wonder, why aren't videoclips for sale?) and my TV-card isn't really good either...

British TV told her managers, that if she didnt wear clothes (was on tv with a Gstring and bra) and stop her crotchy masturbation moves, they would not let her be on public broadcast again. Angry parents flooded the tv stations with complaints.

I saw her with clothes on, I didnt recognize her.

LOL I PLAYED THAT EXACT same game, Also, remember that VERY simple "Turtle" game(More like a cad program for young children) for the old macs? Where you had this triangle and you could make designs and paterns etc by using simple commands such as Forward 50 Back 50 Right 15 Forward 50 Back 25 ETC ETC

I know she is VERY OBSCENE, i think you may not have seen her newest one called "beautiful" where it shows the "boyfriends mouthing and tongueing one another, GAWD DAMN thats nasty. I saw her "dirrrty" video where she speaks of needing to ride the cock tonight to get off , or some such filth

Yeah, the ones i find arent too bad, but believe it or not, they look fine on a lower res TV, the loss of detail isnt as apparent on a TV set.

Turtle??? Yes I know what you mean... it's a programming lanuage called LOGO if I recall correctly. I have some old science mags laying around here which are predicting it will change the educational system and speed up the development of children. Guess that never really took off :-)
I love looking through those old mags, they have so many ads on the latest Atari, Commodore or whatever... some games even have FOUR COLORS!!! hahaha! Still, I remember when Commander Keen arrived... I had never seen anything that beautiful on my computer (a newer one)... even today's games can't quite get the same response from me anymore, we're spoiled!

I havent seen the latest Christina, I'm sure there's no way around it though so I'll probably see it someday soon. She's just white trash... the kind of girl you see ending up in the porn industry everyone here seems so interested in (guess what children, it's not like that in real life!). Funny thing is... she's just plain ugly!

I've seen what a TV can do to the quality perception of poor quality video... all of a sudden it looks vivid and full of colour, I never could quite figure out why, but it works! Still, I don't understand why the music industry doesn't actively sell videoclips, I'm sure there would be a big market for DVD-quality video clips and there's no source anywhere to obtain them at the moment. Those fools wouldn't know how to make money if you handed it to them on a golden plate!

Anyway... we must be getting old.

HansG They do sell music clips, I went into a music store to buy a classic Billy idol video i cannot find (Shock to the System)
And the prices are outrageous 22 dollars! So thats why i dont by music videos.
