This new version of shankster has been redesigned in full, from the ground up. The new architecture allows for other p2p network plugins. WIth the release of shankster2 you will be able to quickly search Gnutella and Direct Connect networks. Included will be advanced host caching for Gnutella with GWebCache.

Shankster2 will also be release in conjunction with the new my.shankster service. The service is completely FREE and provides great exposure for short film makers and music artists. ANYONE can sign up. Your generated page will be dynamically added and you will be put into the "featured" rotation.

A Shankster2 beta should surface in the coming weeks, along with more p2p network plugins.

Thanks,
Kyle Shank

I presume it is due to the fact that the developer (who wrote the message) is called Shank.

hmmm might try this but... I don't want to be a party pooper but I would rather the ad delivering company be something like cydoor rather than gator.. cydoor cleaned up their act and I do not mind them but gator.... I would rather not:fire http://www.shanksoft.com/shankster/

sounds like a waste of time. like notbob said all the dc hubs will block this crap, so what you will be left with is just another gnutella client.

No P2P worth the time of day uses Gator anymore. And if they are, then someone will have taken the time to make a clean version. Gnutella? People still use that? The only thing good about it is Shareaza, but Shareaza doesn't equal content. All worthwhile DC hubs will block this if it gets popular. So, why not use Shareaza if you absolutely must use Gnutella or get DC++ and never have to worry about spyware hell?
