I've used both

Windowblinds can do some really cool stuff, it can change more. But it can also be sorta buggy, a system hog, and at the time I used it, I couldn't find a single skin that wasn't anoying and looked cool

Style xp uses just as much resources as windows does (maybe less), never crashed on me, and I found some great looking skins

Window Blinds has alot more skins, but Style XP uses Windows's theming engine. It dosn't just cover up the windows theme. Style XP uses alot less system resources.

Both are pretty good though, they both do what you want them to do, I happened to like Style XP because it themes much better. They both are pretty cool though. I like alot of Window Blind's themes.

i dont use windowsblinds bc it does use up so much system resources... and also bc style xp has so many nicer themes... from classix to watercolor (i know there is probly a watercolor theme for windowblinds... i mean, more original themes.)

I'm using StyleXP now, and it's neat... I switch between a few different skinthemethingies... otherwise I just go back to classic Windows.

But... it's telling me to register.... and I don't want to do that...

Can't understand anyone using window blinds , to me it a cosmetic change which eats system resources i have to say i am of the type that couldn't give a monkey's ass what my OS looks like as long as does what i want i.e. downloads shitloads of files ,it is fast and doesn't crash more times than a zx81 and i can leave it without it going tits up.

The good people at ShareLive.com, before I became a mod, hooked me up with the full version of Style XP. If you look around, maybe you can get a copy too...:black

Personally, I'm very much into how my system looks. I want a nice looking computer on the outside, inside, and the OS. Thats kinda what I love about SuSe 8.2 (Linux). Linux I'm able to really customize the hell out of my OS. The best themes have always been on Linux (IMO) but Windows XP is pretty good and Style XP allows you to have some ability to make you customize your box to your own personality.

People do that will everything, we put posters on our walls, get cool looking funiture and bed sheets, we match are stereo equipment (all black, silver, or white, single theme), and we do this also to our cars, our school notebooks/folders, and even the way we dress. Why not do it to our computers and OS too.

Its just another form of personalizing and self expression. And its fun to have something customized to you.

stylexp doesn't really use any resources... since it uses winxp's built in theming to show themes, one time and it's done.

it's like going to the appearance tab and changing the height of the title bar. yea, it looks different now, but once you've done it, it takes up no more resources than it did before.

I meant using themes in general, as opposed to just have a plain interface a la Windows 2000. Just Got rid of XP altogether, 2000 is much more comfortable to move around in

I don't care if its "pretty" or not.

When I get XP installed, i'll just stick to Classic Windows.
