I need help please. When I try to install the kazaa_lite_202_kpp_v202 file I get a error message that says the source file is corrupt. I can install Kazaalite 2.02, but not the new download with the k++2.02 full installer. What do I need to do to get the full installer to work. I've uninstalled previous versions of Kazaalite. Thanks.

This means the copy is corrupted, it happens when you get it from multiple sources, sometimes a few bits will go bad, which ruins the installer

Download a new copy, preferably off of a web server, not P2P, and it should work, if it doesnt, let us know (in the future a windows version would be nice to, try to include as much background info about your computer as possible)

I downloaded the full installer from 3 different web sites. All with the same corrupt source message. I'm running windows xp pro. Could someone give me step by step instructions on how to install k++2.02 into kazaalite 2.02 since I can install that program. Thanks.

Try right clicking on the installer then to properties and checking the compatibility thing....then install.

It's worked for pre installed KL's on XP....may work for fresh installs too...

It did the same for me. Heres what I had to do. Go into your program files and delete whats left of your original kazaalite folder. If it wont let you delete open up task manager and end kazaa.exe if its running. After you clean up program files it should install fine. K++ works pretty good but Ive noticed there is no more forums and everyone that uploads from you is a deity(666). So Im guessin that even though your pl shows you 1000, everyone else is seein you 666. Anyone??????

Changing the compatibility didn't work and I also deleted all traces of Kazaa in the program files and the registry but it still says source file is corrupt. Antiviruses are also disabled. Any suggestions? Any programs known to conflict with KL2.02?

It has something to do with your isp or the connection you have to the internet that is corrupting your download. Get a download manager like Get Right (http://www.getright.com/) to download it. I think it comes with adware so just run Spybot or AdAware afterward to clear it all out.

Well, everybody took my ideas, except for one, open up your computer, and right click on your root drive (usually C:\), the go to properties, do a disk cleanup from there, and make sure to get every temp file, and internet temp file gone, I usually select all and delete, its all save to delete

Sometimes you get fragments of a program left in the temp folder, clearing them out can help, if it doesnt, make sure again that the temporary internet files are cleared, and download it again

Try restarting after an uninstall and before you install anything else, it can clear crap out on occasion

phalkon is probably right, but if his ideas don't work then definitaly try mine. I was on a 33.3k modem for a long time (dunno if that has anything to do with it though) and I used to always get corrupt files when I downloaded. I was then pointed in the direction of Go!Zilla (a download manager) and my downloads ceased to have that problem. Go!Zilla sucks now so I do not recommend it, so if you continue to have the problem.. try Get Right.
