I have a question. What is the best server to connect to? Gnutella, Gnutella2 or any others? Plz respond. I really need to get my app. to connect to the best server. open-nap or sumthin.
Thx in advanced. And all of u jackasses who post shit up on here, will not be part of the alpha/beta testing. I changed it to the first 50, since no thinks that i can do this. I got another programmer to help me. we have switched over languages from visual studio.net over to C++. We have been working are butts off, to get this program to you needs.:black :fire :wings :shy :mellow

Why do you still stick around? lol You know NOBODY actually supports you or believes in what you say anyway.. so there is no point in making these threads... For mp3s the best networks is a decentralized one like blubster has..I'm not sure you know what decentralized is anyway lol

You have switched languages? Is that correct? Wait, one more time.., you are telling me that you changed your mind and switched programming languages?
Are you a complete retard? You haven't even mastered one and you change your mind to think that another language may be easier.
Connect to Fasttrack. You do that and we will not mess with you ever again and you will get a public apology from me. Until then, quit spamming about your useless vaporware program that won't do shit.
Go read a book. My advice would be Java. I am going read right now for about an hour. Yes, I am going read. You have to actually do that you know... If you can't do that, then rip the cables out of the back of your computer; then take the harddrive and take a big fucking shit all over it...

Another 'thing'... You're asking us what the best server solution would be for your application... so you're not really writing a p2p app as much as you are writing a clone. You're just trying to write your own version of some other already existing application. Your program will be (at least as far as content and network architecture goes) no different than whatever app you would choose (As if it's as simple as choosing - the entire methodology of your application is based on network structure and you are treating it like it's as simple as choosing whether to buy an S.U.V or a car - there would be thousands of lines of different code between writing an Open-Nap application and a Gnutella Client).
Dude, I'm a professional programmer. It's 9:30 at night and I've been at this client since 8:00 AM. I've worked about 70 hours this week and probably written 50 thousand lines of Visual Basic and SQL this month alone. I've written Java decompilers, web services, designed database schema's and dabbled in network code, and I am telling you that personally I would be frusterated with the tasks at hand in writing a p2p application.
There are far too many tried and tru techniques for compression of data and network load handling that if you don't get just right you're going to wind up tearing your hair out for A LONG TIME trying to figure out why everything transfered with your app comes through corrupt or why you can only get 2k/sec even on a LAN.
My suggestion: If you're interested in learning programming and you like the idea of writing network applications, start out by trying to write a basic IRC client. Make it more complex, then perhaps move onto non Plain-text protocols.

Hrmmmmmmmmmmmm dude you like completely switch from SUPPOSLY FastTrack to Gnutella because you know you cant connect to FastTrack and you know Gnutella is Open source fo Decide what you're going to do and stop spamming your Program untill you have something to prove that it does exist. I'm not trying to sound like an ASS but i dont know what you're thinking first you lied about you needed money 2nd you say i lied i dont need money 3rd you need to STOP spamming something that's not even True 4th I dont think you're going to release a Client that will connect to FastTrack so if i was you i'd just give up your project because in my opinion it's not true but if YOU are saying the truth it's your fault no one believes you because you lie to damn much to the ZP community.

we have switched over languages from visual studio.net over to C++.
Since when is Visual Studio.NET a programming "language"?
taken from Visual Studio.NET homepage
"Visual Studio .NET is the comprehensive tool set........."etc.
Its a development tool not a language. I'm no programmer but somethin smells.....oh thats right its you!!

The kid is not a programmer. There is no "other programmer". There is no program. There never was a program. There never will be a program. He even thinks there is such a programming language as C--!!!!!! He asked for money(con artist). He asked in a thread before announcing his "app" how to program and where or what to learn. He then admits to his own lies and comes back thinking people will still believe he is working on a program. By the way, just to respond to your post a bit more, "he" never even said anything about fasttrack. And now he says he "quit" "making" the "program" and after a humorous conversation with a fellow member of Zeropaid in AIM, he admits he doesn't know how to program and that he is not a programmer. Let us lay this issue to rest.

If you are really going to do anything, you will send us all betas simply because we are the ones who doubt you. Send me a beta and I swear I will shut up. Until I see a beta, I will continue to think you are full of shit.
So there's your challenge. Show me a beta, bitch!

LOL well am on a mac right now while I wait for my bare bone to be sent to me (4 more days!) any way well while on this mac there is a program called Drumbeat(soon it will come out for the pc). It connects to open nap servers yeah serverS I am currently conencted to 50 open nap servers with a total content of of 3 PETAbytes! OMG there is just an amazing welth of files mostly mp3s but there are more movies then fasttrack but almost no software. One small littel problem. NO SWARMING! :*( and there are a few other draw backs. Well see the open nap network uses the simular type of que that HTTP/FTP uses. I won't get into basics but lest just say it will be making a open nap program that swarms diffucult.
Pritty much what you would have to do is have it so every one with your client could have the ability to swarm but realy only with other people that have your client. You could in thery mesh in other users of open nap and people with your client fill in the blanks but it would be a pain in the ass. Also Open Nap like Gnutella (1 and below) are dieing rapidly. You COULD save open nap but you would have to creat a relay nice client.
So what I would do is start making a client by taking sorce from other clients and wait until G2 comes out and then use G2. I see that eDonkey/Overnet is also building up steam so you mite wan't to keep tabs on them too. One problem using G2 is that Shareaza by far has the best features of any p2p app so it would be diffuclut compeating with them.

there isnt servers in gnutella theres only gate ways, and peers you connect to, so there is no best server. if you want servers use openap, dc, or emule. piolet id say is the best for mp3's but the users seam to go up and down latley but dont go lower than 50, 000 i guess people are experimenting with networks.
